After hanging out in Pahrump Nevada a couple weeks we (I’m traveling by bus with Tim) rolled to Yucaipa California to look at a shuttle bus for possible new wheeleastate.

I really liked the look with so many windows to bring in the light and views. Sadly, the transmission was bad so a no go.

Without the correct filters I didn’t really watch the eclipse but did see some tree crescents.

From California it was a hot drive to Yuma where Tim’s bus could be parked while we drove Joann’s minivan to Tucson for another possibility of new wheeleastate.

This “vantruck” was perfect and before you know it, I owned it.

What is called a “no build” build (not bolted down) has a queen size bed, small fridge with ice cream bar sized freezer, compost toilet, a couple of old dressers, 400 watts of solar on the roof and all things to make power including a 200 amp hour lithium battery.

Getting late in the day, Tim drove the new wheeleastate and I followed west on Interstate 8 to a favorite BLM camp along Freeman Road.

The almost new, over hard, memory foam bed was brutally impossible to sleep on.  Have a topper coming that will hopefully solve that problem (thanks to Slim who bought that from my Amazon wishlist. *More on that coming.)

The next morning I drove my new wheeleastate back to Yuma where I spent the night at Joann’s. No AC means window open with a Sahara blast in the face.  Temps were triple digit.

And so the following day I headed north to a cooler Skull Valley to stock my new wheeleastate.  Tim would be about an hour behind me. He would be working on the many little things needing repairs while I moved goods from the 5th-wheel. However…

I’m still writing on my phone so this is wonky.

*I made an Amazon wishlist and posted it on my Facebook page.  Somehow I hit a “surprise me” button so had no idea who was buying what or when it would be shipped. The response was overwhelming and the entire list was filled.  Thanks to all ❣️
