  1. There is something beautiful about burned trees. After the Mt. Lemmon fires, many patches of land were left open, but I have to admit that I love both before and after…so do the animals and birds. Before in the 90′s it was overgrown and full. Today the views are stunning with incredible open vistas…..and the animals seem to enjoy walking around the exposed areas.

  2. There really is beauty here but I am sure that it is something we would prefer not to see! Unless of course it is controlled burning. Diane

  6. Nice pics, fire is of course part of the natural cycle, complicated though of course because in some areas people have chosen to live in amongst the trees plus the undergrowth built up during the years of extreme suppression. I think you know far more about that stuff than I do.

  7. these images are beautiful…they are full of hope for new growth someday.

  8. I’m surprised that in the 6 years since the fire most of the growth has been undergrowth and not really any trees. It makes for a haunting photo subject though.
