This week’s Foto Friday Fun includes 8 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives.
MaryBeth chose #1990, “the birth of my first Grandson who graduated this year from eastern U. with a degree in Psychology and still can’t psych his Gramma out.” I’m getting psyched out for the fall colors that are soon to arrive on the Kaibab Plateau. This view from two years ago September 29th. Sorry for the bug splotches on the windshield.
Sherry chose #1980 as “It was a VERY good year!” In 1980 I still lived in Illinois and my craft at the time was stained glass. This unicorn piece was my own design and had way too many very tiny pieces of glass. But it was a very good year.
Sallie chose #1108, “my street address when I was in grade school …. a time back in the dark ages that I dimly remember.” These Navajo sandstone formations are even older than the dark ages deposited about 200 million years ago as sand dunes. Now we can drive through certain areas of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument like Johnson Canyon where I saw these tee-pee shapes.
Bibi chose #1999 as the “year of the NATO bombing of Serbia :(“ I am sorry to say I was oblivious to world events during this time of my life. Traveling south along the California coast just south of Orik, Carson and I played on the beach.
Diane chose #1947, the year she was born. Every time I see grasses and plants I think of birth and new life. This photo was taken along the Echo Ravine trail in Golden Gate Highlands National Park in South Africa.
Barb chose #47 for “how many years we’ve been married.” Shortly after I wasn’t married anymore (made it 15 years) a dear friend and I stayed for a month in our RVs in San Felipe, Mexico. This shot of the Sea of Cortez was taken along the road to Porto Cito. Calling all those potholes a road was a real stretch but was worth every bump.
Red Nomad OZ chose #378, “the number of Google Connect blog followers I currently have.” Well there certainly isn’t that many birds in this photo, but sometimes during winter feeding it does look like hundreds.
Jo chose #1113, “just because it sprang into my head as I commented!” Seems like there is always a little spring to the walk of Ostriches, these seen in Kruger National Park, South Africa along with a whole lot of other birds.
My choice for this week shows Turkey Vultures soaring over Grand Canyon from the Point Imperial overlook.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I really enjoy digging through my archives and pulling the stories from my memories. For next week leave a number between 50 and 999 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
