This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 4 images chosen by readers out of my photo archives.  These are all from my current journey in South Africa.

Sallie chose #526, “Because it is so close to the last.”  These were the last lions on our last day the second visit to Kruger National Park.  They were taking a break from mating, which we also saw and you can too in Joan’s video below.  This is something I never expected to see.

Bibi chose #444 because, “I like 4s.”  Instead of 4 I only can show you 3 of these unidentified ducks seen from the Mfazana bird hide at iSimangaliso Wetland Park near St Lucia in South Africa.

Diane chose #399, “for no particular reason.”  This hippo, seen in Kruger National Park, may have been yawning for no particular reason or to send a defensive message to another hippo.  (Sorry for the lousy quality, it was far away.)

Yogi chose #400.  A sunrise through the windshield in Kruger National Park.  Yes, me the not morning person saw many sunrises while in the park as it’s the best time to view wildlife.

My choice this week is also from Kruger National Park, and no, this elephant doesn’t have five legs.

This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 7 images chosen by readers out of my photo archives.  Unfortunately I’m dealing
with many issues due to my computer being stolen while in South Africa, the loss of 1000s of photos and struggling to
figure out Windows 8 on the replacement so the selections were limited.

MaryBeth chose #44 and gets a view taken in Hluhluwe National Park South Africa.  Pronouse the ‘H’ as a ‘sh’ sound and good luck.  The game was a little sparse here but the rolling hills and valleys were spectacular.

Jonker chose #13, “My favorite number just because other people see it as unlucky.”  How lucky that Joan caught this Gold-banded Forester in Sodwana National Park and that we could let it go inside a tent for photos before releasing it into the wilds again.

Sherry chose #399.  Franklins are seen all over Kruger National Park.  Joan and I jokingly call them breakfast because they just stand in the road staring at us and almost daring us to run them over.

Sallie chose #222, “our daughter’s birthday.”  I send Zebras from Hluhluwe National Park South Africa for her birthday.

Bibi chose #400, “no reason!”  For no reason she gets this unidentified plant seen in Sodwana Bay National Park South Africa.  Have you ever seen anything like this?

Diane chose #199, “For no particular reason.”  I’d have a good reason to follow this fisherman home and help eat this Baracuda he caught near Cape Vidal off the coast of Sodwana Bay National Park South Africa.

Yogi chose #201, “Cuz it is just past halfway.”  This Blue Heron was more than halfway fishing for it’s breakfast.  Actually saw it eat a small fish but wasn’t quick enough to get the shot.

My choice this week of a 3 inch frog I saw in the laundry sink at Sugarloaf Camp in St. Lucia South Africa.  Never go to the bathroom without the camera.

This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 6 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives.  Next week I hope to share more photos from the current trip in South Africa.

Bibi chose #4, “which I consider for some reason to be my lucky number.”  It would be very lucky to see a real wolf howling instead of this drawing I did back in my college days.

Firefly chose #247, “just a random number to keep the pics clicking over Hope you are having a blast.”  Had a blast at Pilansberg where we saw this Blue Wildebeest with its young.

Sallie chose #25, “cuz that was the number of our site in one of our favorite RV Parks.”  Sure wish I’d have camped at Granite Basin Lake near Prescott, Arizona before the Dulce fire.

Elaine chose #173 which might not be terribly exciting to many but this white ball is full of 1000s of frog eggs and are laid so that when the tadpole emerges it falls into the water.  Seen at Kruger National Park.

Yogi chose #73, “its a prime number which is great and its digits add up to 10 which appeals to me also.”  I’d call this sunset from Cape Royal at the North Rim of Grand Canyon is definitely a 10, and also prime.

Diane chose #19, “for the date of my birth.”  Coming out of Wire Pass slot canyon felt like being birthed from the sandstone rock.

My choice this week is of a very rare sighting in Kruger National Park not because the Black Rhino is so rare but because they usually are deep in the bush which is where the first one we saw was hiding.
