This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 9 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives. Real heavy on Arizona choices and nothing wrong with that.
MaryBeth chose #39 because, “My youngest birthday was on the 7th and she is now a grand 39—Jack Benny’s forever age.” Well I think Tow Mater is another character that will be young forever.
Jo chose #7, “as it was the day the foster cats reached their first owner’s home in SA.” That is cause for celebration, just like our 4th of July. Of course at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park we don’t celebrate with fireworks, instead we have a water parade.
Sherry chose #611. She’s a rather crafty gal and would enjoy watching Ramson, a Hopi glass blower, at the Native American Heritage Days held annually at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Maybe she’ll make it there next year towards the beginning of August.
Yogi chose #666, “Just cuz I want to see what the devil’s photo is going to be.” I am devilishly lucky because I’ve lost and found this diamond ring twice. Most recently sifted out of the Yarnell fire ashes. Yogi will appreciate this being a geocacher and he likes scavenger hunts too.
Arija chose #365, “in the hope that I will still be around til then.” If you’d like to come house sit for me this winter you can be around for some snow instead of your summer Australian heat.
Bibi also chose #666 “for next week, the devil that I am.” I think the devil made me buy this truck, or at least had something to do with it being a lemon. Very pretty, uncomfortable ride that cost me a fortune. Much happier with the Dodge.
Diane chose #699 and she makes and likes jewelry as much as I do. I think she’ll like this Laramar pendent set in Sterling Silver, a stone found only in the Dominican Republic, although I bought this at Wickenburg’s Gold Rush Days.
Sallie chose #350, “because I so often like the middle of the road choice.” No choice but the middle of the road over the Hassayampa River Bridge on the Wagner Road not too far from where I live.
Melissa chose #29 in honor of her “Unk Rees” born on 12/29/29 who lived in Tacoma, WA at the time of Mount Saint Helen’s eruption. So here’s an image of the volcano taken back in the 90s.
My choice this week is a swallowtail butterfly taken in a friend’s backyard just down the hill from where I live in Congress, Arizona.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I really enjoy digging through my archives and pulling the stories from my memories. To join in the fun for next week leave a number between 1 and 700 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
