Banana grove Mpumalanga
After Kruger National Park our journey took us from Mpumalanga…
where in Nelspruit I was reminded of home,
through rolling hills,
and past Swaziland. Which looks much like South Africa with a barb wire fence between the two,
and into KwaZulu-Natal.
Got to the coast and walked the beach in Durban, where I lost my camera. (Most expensive shells I ever gathered.) This put me in a bit of a tizzy so we went to this HUGE shopping mall and I promptly bought another camera. I mean, I couldn’t go through with the rest of my vacation with no camera. And I survived the mall. I hate shopping malls.
Our journey continued towards the Drakensburg Mountains where John Hedges, son of Jo from Memorable Meanders, would meet us and lead me on an overnight hike into these towering, amazing green mountains topped by rocky spires. And on the way we found a beautiful place to camp on a reservoir.
