This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 10 readers and includes quite a bit of red rock and a hide-n-seek leopard.
TreDeuce chose #1187, one of two in a panorama. Any time I drive over Navajo Bridge I stop to look upstream—this shot—and down stream while keeping an eye out for California Condors.
And as a special request, “in memory of my daughter who died this last weekend, could you select a picture from your archives.” I am sorry for your loss. I chose Starve Rock State Park in Illinois where I grew up and spent much time absorbing a powerful energy from a place that called to me from the past, a life I would later recall. (If you’re interested in that story open this link.
George chose #918. A lovely view of the Grand Staircase Escalante to the north of SR89 between Kanab, Utah and Page, Arizona.
Rita chose #5597. Nice looking pool I didn’t swim in at Wild Coast Sun in Port Edward, South Africa. I was there to see the Mzamba fossil site.
Jodee and Bill chose #7211. Double lucky when a rainbow is seen at Grand Canyon.
Jennifer chose #9791. No, it’s not a photo of a bent culvert. Look closely, almost dead center, for the spots of a Leopard hiding at Pilanesberg Game Reserve, South Africa.
Jeff chose #925 for “Wednesday Sept. 25, 1889 Temple Beth Israel opened its doors in San Diego and continues to open its doors to all faiths.” I look at nature as my church and it’s certainly open to all. The Cockscombs along SR89 near House Rock Valley is like a cathedral.
Sallie and Bill chose #6858. Smoke on the South Rim and out of the park during a prescribed burn as seen from the North Rim.
Sherry and David chose #9999. I invite them, and you, to step into the forest on the Ken Patrick Trail on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park.
Diane and Nigel chose #2112. My first visit to Toroweap, but not last. The long gravel road is slow but worth the iconic view 3000 feet down into Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.
My choice this week from a quick stop at Granite Basin Lake in the Prescott National Forest on the way home.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
