This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by seven readers including lots of green and orange, South African Gemsboks, and my last Yarnell sunset.
Liberalwarrior chose #1918, “a reference to the 1918 Pandemic.” In my mind, viruses come and go all the time and I’m just trying to stay away from peopley places. If in South Africa, I might hike into the Drakensburg Mountains where people are few, but views are magnificent. I am not making light of this but refuse to live in fear.
Doris chose #792. Whenever I cross Navajo Bridge I stop and look for Condors but also enjoy the interesting view looking down into the Colorado River below the walking bridge. Sometimes, the flash of muddy water can be seen in the flow.
Rita chose #639. One of several abandoned Native American structures to be seen at Wupatki National Monument in Arizona.
Jo chose #4800. My favorite monsoon view over Grand Canyon from Crazy Jug Point.
Diane and Nigel chose #2902. Having met Bill they know he’s a calm mannered man. I was impressed he kept his cool when the clutch blew in his truck and it had to be towed out of the sand dunes.
Sallie and Bill chose #2989. From the same incident as above.
Melissa chose #8795. One of the best places to see wildlife on safari is by a waterhole. This shot of the Gemsboks was taken through a windshield at Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa during my last trip in March, 2014.
My choice while recently labeling photos from April 2019. My last sunset from Berta’s little house in Yarnell. The place became a part of me having spent at least part of winters there for 15 years. And I took, and shared, a lot of sunset shots over those rocky Weaver Mountains.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. For more of the story just follow the links. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment below.
