At 8200 feet summer blooms come a little late. Yet summer is certainly here at daily temperatures reaching 80 degrees.
This New Mexico Locust, Robinia neomexicana, is part of the Legume Family and the pea-shaped flowers taste like, you guessed it, peas. But watch out for the thorns.
Hope to get out tomorrow to see what else is in bloom.
That’s not bug guts on the windshield. It’s Ponderosa Pine pollen.
And this year it’s everywhere.
Including up everyone’s nose which is causing more allergy problems than every before. I’ve never suffered from allergies before but this year my favorite tree may be the culprit of a totally stuffed up head with lots of blowing and sneezing. (Sorry if that’s TMI.)
