The morning began clear and bright at the Lodge on this last work day on the Walhalla.
Golden aspen lined the road onto Walhalla Plateau.
Rain moved in right after finishing the Archaeology talk at the Walhalla overlook.
A few drops fell at Cape Royal then the storm moved west.
Clearing began to the south over Wotons Throne.
Then the sun broke through.
And brought light and shadows to the east.
Freshly washed canyon.
I could have stayed until sunset but had to head home.
Back through the alley of gold.
To this treat at the end of the road.
This is the last day I’m scheduled to work on the Walhalla Plateau. Yet we’re going to try to get back out there again before the season is over in two weeks. What happened to the summer?
