I left Hurricane and headed into monsoon. That really sounds worse than it was.
It was a dark and stormy drive.
Raining to the north over Zion National Park.
And it rained enough to wash most of the bugs off the windshield.
As I approached Colorado City the sky blackened, then poured.
And beyond that the thickened sky dropped to the ground.
I headed south and clouds hung above the Kaibab Plateau.
And as I approached Jacob Lake fog filled the forest.
From there the clouds took on some interesting shapes…
…and the sun made a final effort.
I craned my neck for a rainbow that didn’t show.
But was just a threat of heavy rain because only sprinkles feel the rest of the way home.
