So how does a frog survive in the Sonoran desert?
It all started in 1928 when Sara Perkins, wife of an Arizona newspaper publisher, noticed this rock in Congress, Arizona that resembled a frog. Sara kept the frog brightly painted for years, and when she grew too old to take care of it, her son John took up the task. Now this 60 ton specimen standing more than 16 feet tall gets repainted once in a while by some unknown local residents. Frog Rock is quite an attraction along State Route 89.
