I’m rather short at 5’5” yet my shadow looks as tall as the trees.

Although I thoroughly enjoy the deep blue skies above Arizona, clouds add that extra special pop to the landscape. House Rock Valley lies below the eastern edge of the Kaibab Plateau. If you follow the valley north only three miles a stop below the California Condor Vermilion Cliffs release site could yield you a sighting of these magnificent endangered birds. Continue driving north, slowly on this bumpy gravel road, about 20 miles to Wire Pass and hike into Buckskin Gulch slot canyon. Another eight miles and you’ll find yourself in Utah’s Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. East will take you to Lake Powell and Page, Arizona. While west heads to Kanab, a junction offering opportunities north to Bryce Canyon National Park, northwest to Zion National Park, or south to the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park which opens May 15th.
Where have you traveled under a cloud shadow sky?
