This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by nine readers including unusual sandstone formations, an old camp trip, and lots of lions.
Sue chose #1002, “for the day we returned home.” This was the first day I visited Kruger National Park, and the first day I saw lions. These two brothers aren’t quite full grown as seen by the lack of a huge mane. South Africa 3-8-2010.
Jeff chose #1023, “for Borrego Days beginning October 23rd.” One of the young males from above.
Alan chose #5120. An amazing sandstone formation lithified from ancient sand dunes seen while hiking upper Buckskin Canyon in southern Utah.
Diane and Nigel chose #810. They may have seen this balancing rock as we drove by Cliff Dwellers between the North Rim Grand Canyon and Lee’s Ferry when they visited northern Arizona.
Cathy chose #1014. Same pride of lions as above but more of the family.
Rita chose #88. The inside of a rebuilt kiva at Aztec National Monument in New Mexico visited in 2005.
Sherry chose #1625. An unknown mushroom seen along the Widforss trail on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park.
Jodee and Bill chose #1816, one of two in a panorama. These sandstone cliffs were seen while hiking in the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa in 2010.
Jo chose #9564. The day after closing the lodge to guests on the North Rim all the furniture stacked in the auditorium for winter. Kind of sad.
My choices from a road-trip adventure in October 1996 camping along the Snake River in Idaho. Different truck and camper, younger me, and note those fuel prices.
