This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 11 readers including rocky trails, birding, and an unknown pretty flower.
Diane and Nigel chose #705. A slot canyon on the Wire Pass trail, feels like walking into a crack in the rock.
Jennifer left a comment last week with 9 words. A super oldie scanned print from summer 1970 while on a boat ride in Chicago labeled “Jewish Temple”.
Jo chose #3538. A stormy August 2016 view east of Saddle Mountain from the Point Imperial overlook on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park.
Alan chose #5742. Gone fishing seems like a good thing to do after retirement, which is recent for Alan. This taken along the Wild Coast in Port Edward South Africa.
Sallie and Bill left a 129 word comment. I must have been shooting this Juniper tree while working at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado in 2005.
Rita chose #7732. Sigh…a favorite view of Grand Canyon from the North Rim taken during August monsoon in 2015.
Sherry chose #6762. Unidentified flowers and succulents along the Waterfall trail in Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa during their summer in February 2014.
Jeff chose #415, for this weeks Foto Friday Fun edition. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Which is what it took to hike into the Grand Canyon on the South Kaibab trail in November 2010.
Doris chose #6589. A cormorant swimming in the Indian Ocean at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa taken the same day as the flowers above.
Sue chose #2021, “just in case” this week’s post goes out. Sometimes it’s all about the clouds as I’m a nepholographer.
Lisa chose #5051, “if it’s happening.” While on safari in Kruger National Park, South Africa there are very few places to get out of your vehicle. Remember there are potentially dangerous lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, baboons and more. There are occasional bird hides along water sources where you walk through rather tricky gates and a long fenced area to a building to bird watch.
OK, so I’m addicted to this Foto Friday Fun stuff, the internet, and blogging. Just had to figure out that from home I can only post in the early morning. I believe you all had more faith in me than I did myself after last week’s struggles. So I’ll add my Bryce Canyon choice this week looking down on the Wall Street trail, which is still closed until no more freezing nights—I have faith that will happen—taken from Sunset Point overlook.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. For more of the story just follow the links. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment.
Do you have a favorite this week?
So glad you figured it out! I don’t have a favorite this week but I love my clouds, and thought it was funny that Sherry got tiny little flowers. You sure you don’t have any say in the matter? I’ll go for 2045. The year I will be 100. Don’t expect it though. Happy if I make it to 86 with decent quality.
LOL! Well, there are multiple choices for each number but I do try and take the oldest that hasn’t already been used somewhere. Luck of the draw. #2045 for you next week.
LOTS of good pictures. I like your picture going down the South Kaibab and the story links to follow you back up Bright Angel. Great adventure! Next week I’ll go #6598
Thanks. That, was one crazy hike. #6598 for next week.
My favorite this week is of the Wall Street trail. Selfish on my part, but I’m glad your addicted to blogging.😉 #1203 for next week please, the number of tunes on my IPOD.
Thanks. And the Wall St trail just reopened. #1203 for next week.
They really are beautiful.
I’ve had a busy week, just getting caught up!
Jennifer was a bit stressed and forgot a number last week! sigh. #3100
Thanks. Sorry to hear about the stress. Hope all is better. #3100 for next week.
I love all of your pics and am intrigued by the Jewish Temple pic. 1424 for next time.
Thanks. I don’t even remember taking that old B&W. #1424 for this week.
Glad we can comment again. I love your shot of Bryce but the slot canyons have both of us hooked so our shot has to be a fave, 1405 for next week please. Take care and have a good weekend, hugs Diane and Nigel.
Slot canyons are beyond cool. #1405 for this week.
Hi Gaelyn, I’m so glad you figured it out, I am definitely addicted to being part of your Friday posts. I’m teaching my granddaughter line dancing which I learnt in my 50’s while living in West Africa. The almost 7 minute video is 392.4 seconds long and is a great workout!) . My number this week: 3924. My favorite is the bird hide in Kruger. I can relate to the tricky gates! Have a great week. Jo
Thanks for being so faithful. I love that you’re teaching line dancing, among all the other things you do. #3924 for this week.
I’m glad to have Internet again this week so I can enjoy another wonderful set of photos. Love that fishing pic!!
#9201 for next week please.
Thanks. #9201 for this week.
Hi Gaelyn, Nice variety of photo’s again, its difficult to choose a fav as I like them all.The Hike into Grand Canyon on the South Kaibab trail looks like it was certainly a challenge, but then again you seem to like a challenge, My fav this week is Looking down on the Wall Street trail. No 4791 for next week please.Enjoy your week ahead and stay safe.
Thanks. That hike certainly is a challenge and I’m glad I did it when I still could. #4791 for this week.
All great photos with a lot of variety. The twists of the Juniper’s trunk looks to be from a Vortex in Sedona :), a Canyon monsoon and colorful Bryce.
For next week I’d like 2000, the year Salvation Mountain was entered in the Nation Registry as a Folk Art Site.
I know you’re not really an early morning person, so this fan appreciates your getting up early to get your posts out. I am so late and I apologize. See I forgot a number for this post and now this week I almost forgot to visit :(really I didn’t forget — my IPAd is acting up.) Annnyway, my favorite was the shot of your hike in the other Grand Canyon, which is beautiful and interesting. but loved everything. IF and only if I am not way too late, I will take 1108.
Luckily I don’t have to get online too early or I might just give up completely. Too many computer issues for you now hearing the IPAD is messing up also. #1108 for this week.
