This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 11 readers including Grand Canyon, dramatic skies, and yesterday’s snowy view at Bryce Canyon.
Jennifer chose #4444. Heart Arch is not the only interesting formation in Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, California.
Doris chose #2218, “my service number at the local Honda dealer to have a roof rack installed.” Hope she loads that rack and makes it to the North Rim Grand Canyon for a sunset.
Rita chose #2993. A southern view across Grand Canyon from Parissawampitts Point along the Rainbow Rim trail located on the Kaibab National Forest.
Jo chose #1844, “the time here in SA on this Friday night.” This sign from the time I hiked with Jo’s son in the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa (SA).
Cathy chose #5860. This late light forest view from my RV window when working on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park.
Sherry chose #4567. A late afternoon with low clouds seen from the Cape Royal overlook on the North Rim Grand Canyon.
Diane and Nigel chose #1604. You’ll have to look closely for the half-moon among these branches.
Lisa chose #7725. Sometimes elephants struggle to get out of a waterhole, though this one wasn’t in trouble. At Addo Elephant National Park South Africa.
Jodee and Bill chose #923. A look back at where I’d been walking on the Coral Pink Sand Dunes.
Alan and Random dot org chose #2846. Fork in the road as I walked to Clark Dry Lake bed in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park California.
Jeff chose #1982, “(19.82) the exchange rate as we crossed into Mexico yesterday.” That’s a crazy good deal for Americans but not for Mexico. And this view south doesn’t reach that far. From Cape Royal again.
My view yesterday from Piracy Point at the Farview overlook during a snow storm at Bryce Canyon National Park.

Do you have a favorite this week?
Dear Gaelyn, thanks for the great post again today. I loved the start branches with the halfmoon peeking through. My number is 1007. Have a great weekend. Jo
Thank you, glad you liked it. #1007 for next week.
My favorites are the Alabama Hills – on my bucket list – and the elephant – probably not realistically on my bucket list any more. Snow at Bryce. Oh my, you should not be there to see that in person. Thanks for letting me see it from my spot at a great distance though. I’ll try 9203 for next week please.
Don’t wipe elephants off your list yet. Sadly, more snow predicted for Monday. #9203 for next week.
Three favourites this week, though as always, every photo is superb. Love the snow storm at Bryce, and the elephant. We do though love our own photo and yes we can see the new moon 😊
2304 for next week. Have a good weekend even though your weekend is not quite the same as ours!
Hugs from us both, Nigel and Diane
Love the gentle late light. Hope you’re getting settled in some more. Next week #0003
Thanks. Now that I have running water I am settled in. #0003 for next week.
Thanks, but you can have the snow. Suppose to drop again Monday. #2304 for next week.
Yep, sure do hope I can make it to the North Rim. So many great places to see in the west. #5147 for next week please.
More places than time. #5147 for next week.
I love the crossroads shot, and all the Grand Canyon shots of course
2507 for next week from my random dot org
Thanks. You and random get #2507 next week.
Snow, oh no! But it is pretty! I can’t believe I missed a week.
Not summer yet at 8000′. #413 for next week.
Or that I forgot how to play. May I have 413 for next week, for your FF #. That I have promised myself not to forget.
Just amazing, as ever. Good luck with work! #0424
Thanks. #0424 for next week.
While I haven’t been to the pink dunes myself, my dad brought me a jar of the sand many years ago that I always treasured. A lovely memory! Love the cute elephant 🙂
# 1652 for next week please.
A large area of those dunes are for the OHV. 🙁 Funny about the sand especially as the visitor center has a display of bottled sand from around the world. #1652 for next week.
Wonderful photo’s Gaelyn. Love that one of the Elephant and it certainly does look as if he/she is stuck in the water hole. My favourite this week is the lovely view through the trees at the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park Thank you for your comment regarding the rock specimen I have, I will take a photo and send it to you for your perusel Thanks.May I have no 0193 for next week please. Hope all is well with you,Stay safe.
Thanks. Sometimes the young elephants do get stuck in a water hole. #0193 for this week.
Is @ 1982 Crazy Jug Point?
No, that was taken from Cape Royal. Of course I do have lots of pics from Crazy Jug, one of my favorite places to camp.
The current view looks chilly! I hope the RV is warm enough for you. The elephant was very cute this week! Number 34 for next week, please!
Even colder today and snowing. #34 for this week.
I learned about this region from reading Zane Grey’s “Last of the Plainsman”. He devoted a few chapters on snake gulch and other nearby canyons. Great reading with a great look at life in this area in the 1800’s. Can’t wait to visit with my RV.
