This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by six readers all from the American Southwest, rocks, plant, artifacts, and dog. (OK, the dog came from Washington state but the photo was taken in Arizona.)
Diane and Nigel get #62 for the number of words in their comment. Carson, my previous fur baby, traveled with me for 11 1/2 years. This shot taken in 2005 when he was eight years old. Is that not a look of love?
Jodee and Bill chose #836. A monsoon storm over The Rimrock of Grand Staircase Escalante, Utah during September, 2009.
Yogi and random dot org chose #608. My first time hiking Buckskin Gulch slot canyon and I totally didn’t understand how to photograph the stark contrasts of light and shadow in 2009.
Rita chose #100. Not the best shot through glass in the museum at Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado when I worked there in 2005. Interesting artifacts from the Ancestral Puebloans with a lot of quill work and the vest could be beads.
Cathy chose #1208, a panorama. Different truck and camper in August 2010 in House Rock Valley, Arizona.
Sherry chose #9379. A close up roseate of Agave taken in Congress, Arizona 4-14-15. My favorite this week.
My choice, the rocks I collected last week, and left behind, from a walk near camp at the feet of the Vulture Mountains. Can you see the tiny (1/4”) quartz crystals?
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. For more of the story just follow the links. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Our usual comment is love all your photos and this in no exception. Love the slot canyon we are totally fascinated by them, but our favourite this week has to be our own pic of Carson, always so sad when you lose a faithful companion. 412 for next week please/
Have a great weekend and keep warm, hugs Diane and Nigel.
Thanks. Slot canyons are intriguing. I miss Carson but now owned by Sierra. #412 for next week.
Gotta love everything Arizona! What a beautiful boy that Carson was. They sure can leave us with some cherished memories. Next week #5823
Of course I Love the SW. #5823 for next week.
Carson looks like he was such a sweetheart. The Agave shot is my favorite this week. How ’bout 4336 for next week.
Best dog ever, and they are never with us long enough. #4336 for next week.
Great and memorable pic of Carson. I still can’t look at the pics of my Buddies. I had to re-home them early this year before leaving on my adventure.
The ;last pic looks like a collection of ‘Leaverite’.
Hard to leave our fur babies behind, even harder when they leave us. And I did leaverite…
I don’t think it’s possible to take a bad photo of the sandstone slot canyons, but the monsoon clouds over the desert really stand out this week. For next week I’d like today’s date Dec 4th (1204)
Slot canyons are so dramatic and most of my shots from that Antelope tour are fuzzy. 🙁 I do like monsoon skies. #1204 for next week.
Pretty sure I like the cloudy rimrock photo this time. The dark mood matches my mood this morning with dense fog that has yet to lift and a trip to Portland for MRI’s coming up in the next few minutes. I will pick 2021 for next week, hoping for a shift in energy as the year changes.
That certainly is a look of love if I ever saw one! The agave is a beauty, too! Number 100 for next week, please!
Thanks, my two favorites this week. #100 for you next week.
You have the best adventures! #2222
Not all my adventures are good, but I rarely bother to photograph the bad. #2222 for next week.
I am really wanting to hike through Buckskin Gulch sometime. I think that would be very cool
2108 for next week from random dot org
Any slot is cool. I’m thinking Buckskin will require a permit before too long as it’s getting very popular. #2108 for next week.
Hi Gaelym what a lovely selection of photo’s this week .I can see the quartz crystals in the piece of rock and I must say I love the one I chose , the quill work of the Puebloans My favourite for this week has got to be your beautiful dog Carson, Hope all is well with you,Take care and stay healthy and safe.
Thanks. The crystals are tiny. Thought you’d like the artifacts. And who can resist those puppy dog eyes? Be well.
Dog photos win for me every time. Let’s do 1139 for the time of this morning’s SpaceX resupply mission launch to the ISS.
How can we resist those doggy eyes? #1139 for next week.
Love my pic – looks like a spot we would enjoy exploring! Carson is so precious, what a sweet soul.
#1465 for next week please.
I’d be sure of that. Carson loved zoomies too. #1465 for this week.
My favorite is the agave closeup – beautiful. Carson must have been a great traveling companion. For next week, how about #4923?
Thanks. #4923 for this week.
