This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 10 readers including moons at sunset, a leopard in a tree, a place that looks like Bryce, and my Mom and Dad.
Jim and Diana chose #4, VOTE! My Mom and Dad were celebrating their birthdays, only four days apart at Dianna’s in Chicago Illinois in June 1974. I have no idea how they ever voted as politics was one of several taboo subjects in my childhood home.
Cathy chose #8967, “for my two favorite drives…” Both would be taken to visit the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park where this shot of the moon at sunset was taken 10-6-14.
Doris chose #9808. While on safari one has to look closely in trees for the well camouflaged leopard like this in Pilanesberg Game Reserve in South Africa during my last trip in 2014.
Yogi chose #6645. I like the shapes of trees even when long dead and the boulders made a nice background along the Hidden Valley trail in Joshua Tree National Park, California.
Rita chose #4323. Notice the long low cloud hanging over the South Rim of Grand Canyon as seen from the North Rim.
Diane and Nigel chose #2310. I visited Hovenweep National Monument with Bill—who they’ve met—during a lunar eclipse on 9-27-15.
Susie chose #0489. Seen in Pilanesberg Game Reserve, this Buffalo and Egret don’t seem to care if it’s Hippo Loop.
Jodee and Bill chose #9421. I spent my 60th birthday at Augrabies Falls National Park South Africa.
Sallie and Bill chose #1120. The view downstream along the Colorado River to Lees Ferry and beyond to the Vermilion Cliffs, Marble Canyon Arizona 4-30-10.
Sherry chose #1029, “the day I finally head south. First stop, Santee State Park to visit Congaree National Park.” I’ve already headed south away from Bryce Canyon National Park, which this is not. Instead it is Cedar Breaks National Monument, same rock.
My choice from Aspen Mirror Lake, similar to the last post.

We LOVE it! Diana says I need to take her to Dianna’s! Awesome pic of your mom and dad. :). Let’s do 270 for next week.
Alas, Diana’s was closed when I wanted to go eight years ago. Was a fun night, and we all go pretty drunk. #270 for next week.
💖 my photo choice. Your choice Aspen Mirror Lake is very pretty too. Next week #4325. Have a good one!
Thanks. #4325 for next week.
Beautiful waterfalls and views of your canyons, but a leopard in tree? That’s different!
For next week I’d like 1111, starting on this coming Veteran’s Day (Nov 11) the DOI will grant ALL veterans FREE entrance to all fee areas it manages! Sweet – but they will still need the ‘geezer’ pass for reduced camping fees.
Thanks. Leopards are difficult to spot. 😉 Military pass has been free for a while used for entrance to parks. #1111 for next week.
You have the most amazing photos!
Thank you.
Great pictures this week! I love your shots of the Grand, and the leopard in a tree—what a treat! I hope your last days at Bryce are wonderfully bittersweet. Number 22 for next week, please!
Thank you. Last days were crazy bitter, and sweet too. Good to be done for the season. #22 for next week.
I love the leopard shot. I also love the moon shots. 8860 for next week.
Thanks. #8860 for next week.
What a thrill it must have been to see a leopard in the wild. #9002 for next week please.
Leopards are elusive, so yes it was. #9002 for this week.
Just love that shot of the Augrabies falls but the Mirror Lake is also very special. Now, I am running very late and it is past my bed time!! Keep safe and have a good weekend. Hugs from us both. 3110 for next week please
Thanks. I was late getting this post out. Sweet dreams. #3110 for next week.
Hi Gaelyn, Love that photo of the Leopard in the tree, how near to him were you? The Augrabies Falls is my favourite for this week. No 1498 for next week please. Hope all is well with you. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks. I zoomed with 300mm and cropped a little on the Leopard as was about 100 yards away. #1498 for this week, as I sit lazily overlooking Lake Mead.
Love seeing your mom and dad. My parents cancelled each other out. One a democrat and the other a republican. Given that, I’m not sure why they bothered to vote but they always did. And so do I. And more passionately this year than ever in the more than 50 years years of my voting life.
Fantastic picture of the grand canyon and a Leopard – LIVE in a tree. Oh I’m so envious. He looks very comfy. “ Hippo loop” that’s great!!
The falls are awesome and the following picture of the Colorado is calendar worthy. As you can see I have a lot of “favorites” but none more so than my Cedar Breaks photo. I’ve been there. Fantastic!
Love the Congress Calendar picture at the end. Let me know when I can order and get it in two weeks so I know what address to give..
Thanks for liking all the shots. Still working on the calendar.
Hi Gaelyn – Love the North Rim photo and the one of the Colorado River. It’s amazing how well camouflaged that leopard is in the tree! I’ll pick # 3135 for next week.
Thanks. #3135 for this week.
Happy November! We’ve seen the beautiful Vermillion cliffs and surroundings, so thanks for the travel memories….and for the virtual travels to SA and everywhere you share. Travel dreams and memories are almost as good as the real thing. How about 1005 next time?
You’re welcome, and thank you for the thoughtful comment. I know who fulltimereading is. #1005 for this week.
Sorry. Sallie
