This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 11 readers including gray volcanic rock from two parts of the world and red rock, plus a few animals, and the moon.
Diane and Nigel chose #2808, “our 30th wedding anniversary…” A few days late but Happy Anniversary with some tilted rock along Swartberg Pass, South Africa.
Jim and Diana chose #60. A road cut reveals layers of rock under the trees in the blast zone on the east side of Mt St Helens from when I worked there the summer of 1992.
Jennifer chose #8000. This shot of Diane when her and Nigel visited the Grand Canyon in 2016.
Yogi and random dot org chose #8507. Looking up to the California Condor release site on the Vermilion Cliffs. A public release is usually held on Public Lands Day the last Saturday in September. However this year it will be a live video at the following link so all will see it virtually. https://peregrinefund.org/news-release/saturday-september-26-25th-annual-public-california-condor-release-taking
Sherry chose #1034. Also the Vermilion Cliffs along SR89A in northern Arizona. Perfect for her as she currently longs for the highway.
Cathy chose #3576. As I walked along the Arizona trail in Grand Canyon National Park this Raven spoke to me. Sadly, I don’t speak Raven.
Jeff chose #42 for MLB’s Jackie Robinson Day 2020. My #42 came up with a scanned print of another animal keeper and me in the enclosure with Sierra, a female cougar, at the California Living Museum in Bakersfield when I was a volunteer during June 1989.
Rita chose #1963. My winter home parked in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California during December 2014.
Susie chose #4567. A very important safety sign at Tsitsikamma Adventures where I ziplined through the tree tops in South Africa in 2013.
Doris chose #479. A platter-sized rock seen near my camp off House Rock Valley Road on the way to hike Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon.
Lisa chose #3200. Yet another campsite view but this time looking up at the Eastern Sierras from Alabama Hills, California during November 2017.
My first choice along the road to home in Bryce a regular sighting of Mule Deer.
And a second share, another almost full moon shot from earlier this week over the iconic Thor’s Hammer.

Do you have a favorite this week?
Dear Gaelyn, the ziplining pic brought back memories of me and Grant doing it in the Karkloof (Kwa-Zulu Natal)! My favorite is the last one of the moon. Although your van parked in the desert is a close second, I missed last week’s post but here’s my number for next week: 3502. Have a great weekend. Jo xx
I loved the Tsitsikamma zipline and could have done it repeatedly. It is really fun when my photos bring back memories for others. #3502 for next week.
Love that drive along the Vermillion Cliffs. Let’s do 53 for next week.
Hopefully you will return west to make that drive again. #53 for next week.
Always such an amazing array of photos each week! My fave is the full moon shot.
For next week – #4374 (Ijust typed those numbers in blindfolded!)

Almost forgot, how ’bout #7654 for this weeks foto Friday Thanks
#7654 for this week.
Every foto friday I marvel at all the places you’ve been and the thousands of pictures you have taken. Loved the Vermillion Cliffs and that highway certainly beacons to me. How about 9118 or maybe I’ve done that before. It’s my grandson’s birth date and I’m leaving in just a bit to go visit him for a few days. No matter, I’ll try it again.
Thanks, I love sharing the memories. Have fun with your family. #9118 for next week. (Have many duplicates. 😉
Well what can we say, a photo of me was a surprise, I must have been stretching to clear some shrubs to try and get the sunset. The moon though has to be our favourite photo, though all the others are close behind.
Take care and stay safe, Have a great weekend, hugs from us both. Diane and Nigel
409 for next week please.
I don’t usually share many people pics but thought this one appropriate. #409 for next week.
As always great photos, but this week Lisa’s choice of your Alabama Hills hits the spot, as we’ll be there in a couple weeks! For next week I’d like 395 our route to travel the eastern Sierra for a week.
You have Raven friends too!! I like sitting at the North Rim and watching or listening to the Ravens going about their day. Thanks for the Virtual Condor Release tip. I’ll be sure and participate in that! 89A – love that stretch of pavement. Alabama Hills and Lone Pine Peak (followed your link) looks like somewhere I’d like to visit! And your fabulous moon shot!! Next week #0508
Seems I have Raven friends in many places. I believe you’d like the Alabama Hills. #0508 for next week.
Thanks. I envy you the journey along #395 and don’t think I’ll make it there this winter. It’s been too long.
I really like the very strong and direct photo of Swartberg Pass, and then I look at your other photos. You have thousands of great photos over the years. I hope you have a thought of a somebody or an organization to to manage those if god forbid, something happens to you.
Thanks. I don’t have anybody in mind. I make photos for my own pleasure and share the stories. Can’t imagine anybody caring for them after I’m gone.
So many wonderful places to explore. Makes me even more anxious to get back on the road!! That moon shot is spectacular :-))
#743 for next week please
Thanks. I’d need multiple lifetimes to see all the places I’d like to go. I am surprised at how many people are out traveling right now. #743 for this week. Stay safe, be well.
I am so awed by the beauty of Bruce Canyon! Great journey this week, as always. Number 1209 for next week, please!
Thanks, Bryce is an amazing place. #1209 for this week.
