This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by 13 readers including the North Kaibab, foggy Grand Canyon, golden Aspen, and waterfalls.
Jo chose #2402. Snake Gulch in the Kanab Creek Wilderness and Kaibab National Forest thankfully was spared from the nearby Mangum fire. The entire area has many Native petroglyphs and pictographs.
Diane and Nigel chose #1906. Seen from the North Rim Grand Canyon, Rangers get paid in sunsets.
Pat chose #1040. Havasu Falls on the Havasupai Indian Reservation in Arizona 4-20-10 after a long hike down into the canyon.
Cathy chose #7911. Just a touch of fall color on the Aspen along East Rim on the Kaibab National Forest 9-20-14. Thankfully south of the Mangum fire.
Sue chose #6180. A rather foggy view from Cape Royal overlook on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park 8-13-14.
Jennifer chose #9193. Golden fall Aspen along the Ken Patrick trail on the North Rim Grand Canyon 10-11-14.
Jodee and Bill chose #525. The remains of a pueblo at Wupatki National Monument in Arizona 4-16-09.
Jeff chose #2011, “the year we visited Antelope Canyon.” It was the previous year for my first visit to South Africa and I hiked in the Drakensburg. Look closely on the rocks for the Baboons that watched on.
Rita chose #1398. Monsoon season is a likely time to see fog in Grand Canyon. Taken from the North Rim Lodge 8-18-10.
Doris chose #422. Not far south from last weeks excursion on the Cottonwood Road, the Cockscomb continues along House Rock Valley Road where I camped before hiking Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon the first time 5-13-09.
Jim and Diana chose #130. While leading tours in Oregon Caves National Monument these stairs offered an optional side trip into Paradise Lost.
Sallie and Bill chose #620. Berlyn Falls was one of many places seen in the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve in South Africa during my first trip in 2010.
Yogi chose #1007. A long view west to the Panamint Range from Eureka Mine in Death Valley National Park, California 10-30-09.
My choice, a phone shot from roving at Bryce Point, looking across the valley to Table Cliffs.

Do you have a favorite this week?
Oh, my…the rock at Havasu Falls seem to mimic the falls themselves! If you would, please put us down for 123 next week.
Travertine deposits from the waterfall make the surrounding rock like a cave. #123 for next week.
Hi Gaelyn, thank you for posting my number. My favourite this week is Berlyn Falls. My number next week is 2606.Be safe. Jo
All the waterfalls in Blyde River Canyon were spectacular. #2606 for next week.
Aspens, sunsets & waterfalls. Too hard to pick a fave. Hope visitors are respectful of distance for you so Ranger interaction can continue & progress. Have a good week! #3817 next week please.
Thanks, some goodies this week for sure. Visitors are being good, so far. #3817 for next week.
Fabulous photo’s as always Gaelyn especially the one of that gorgeous sunset North Rim Grand Canyon. The stairs into Paradise lost look pretty scary to me,don’t think I would venture on those. My fav this week is the Havasu Falls. Would like no 4297 for next week Foto Friday. Have a great weekend.
Thanks. Many people didn’t opt for those tall stairs but the decorated dome at the top was worthy. #4297 for next week.
Fabulous photos all of great natural areas from two continents. I love the the one with the aspens especially.
1229 for next week
Keep on keeping on Rangering away.
Thanks. I miss those golden aspen on the Kaibab although there are some at Bryce. #1229 for next week.
Since ‘Rangers are paid in sunsets’, you must have worked overtime the day you took the sunset picture that Dane and Nigel chose. For next week I’d like 629 the date our kitchen countertops arrive
Thanks. Overtime happens for sunrises, and not frequently. #629 for next week.
Oh wow, love our photo but then Sunsets take a lot of beating. As always though all great photos and we like the watching baboons 🙂 You do see some stunning places. 2606 for next week please. Have a great weekend, hugs Diane and Nigel
Thanks. Sunsets worthy of a photo are always good no matter where. Knowing how nasty baboons can be they made me a little nervous. #2606 for next week.
Enjoyed the waterfall pictures this week. Waterfalls are so refreshing on hot summer days. #9142 for next week please.
Thanks. Any kind of moving water is a treat. #9142 for this week.
Great photos…when will we all be able to travel near and far again? I love ‘my’ Havasu falls one. Reminds me now of my kitche faucet that my son fixed. Now it flows, not trickles! 1632 is the 24-hour clock time now here, so going for that number.
Thanks. I wish I knew when we could start traveling. Sure a lot of tourists in the park these days. Glad you have a waterfall in your faucet. #1632 for this week.
Oh dear! Did I miss last week? How did that happen? Well this week my favorites are the two waterfalls since I would greatly love to be there right now rather than in hot Virginia.
This quarantine has moved from inconvenient to irritating. I’ll take number 113 for next week. That’s the number of days I have now been stuck in one place and it is a record for the last 9 years. Grumble, grumble,…
I’d like to be near waterfalls too. I am glad you are still around if that’s what quarantine takes. #113 for this week.
I haven’t found much to add to my waterfall “collection” (photos) lately, so mine was a lucky number … now at least I have a virtual sighting . I love that and all the photos, and am happy I found the baboons hiding on those purplish rocks! What a wonder to see them in the wild like that!
I haven’t seen a waterfall in forever.
