This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers including Grand Canyon, lots of shots with an old P&S Canon, and back to my big Nikon camera.
Rita chose #9976. While working and living on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park this was the view from my RV in 2014. I watched the seasons change from snowy spring, monsoon summer, and fall as the Quaking Aspen showed off their colors. Almost matched the sunset seen across canyon.
Jennifer chose #7908. She likes kitties, though hers and mine are a bit smaller than this collared lioness napping in Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa seen during my March 2014 visit.
Sue chose #97, “for the year I hiked Little Wildhorse.” This shot of me in 1966 at 12-years old when I started wearing makeup and discovered boys so spent less time hiking anywhere.
Diane and Nigel chose #1312. A Grand Canyon view on 4-29-09 from the North Rim before it was open May 15th. I relished such quiet time in preparation to share with the crowds.
Yogi chose #1214. Less than a week before the previous shot I saw the lilacs beginning to bud before I left Yarnell. Growing up in Illinois there was a hedge of giant lilacs I used to sit under and breath deep when they flowered.
Jo chose #4590. During August 2014 monsoon clouds frequently drifted in and out of Grand Canyon. The magic of formations popping in and out of sight is much like the low clouds called a tablecloth in the Drakensburg Mountains near where Jo lives in South Africa.
Lisa chose #642. Yet another stormy view from Cape Royal, the same overlook as above, yet with more of the Grand Canyon to be seen, taken 7-20-09.
Sherry chose #1117. I struggled taking decent photos on the Antelope Slot Canyon tour with a low end camera in September 2009. This looking straight up shows the high contrast that is difficult to deal with hand-held.
I’m pretty excited about my choice for a number of reasons. Nice to see an exquisite sunset in Arizona, especially when shared with a friend. And this is the first I’ve used my big camera since breaking my wrists in August.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Wow every photo this week is a favorite but if we really have to pick one it is you as a 12 year old, love it. 2012 for next week please. Enjoy your weekend. Diane and Nigel
Thanks. #2012 for next week.
Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
Number 6347 for next week please.
I really like the last photo. I am glad to hear that you are using the big camera. My number for next week is 1227. Have a great weekend!!
Thanks. I can’t hold the big girl for long but I’m working on it. #1227 for next week.
Merry Christmas to you and family!
Certainly the preteen Gaelyn is a fun photo, but I am captivated by the monsoon clouds in the Grand Canyon. For next week I’d like 1208 the number of hours we will be hosting guests this Thanksgiving/Christmas season. (Yupper, it is a record!)
Monsoon is my favorite time at the canyon. #1208 for next week. Hope your sanity holds.
I guess my favorite is the last one, for the same reasons you love it. Your wrists are good enough to shoot an amazing image with a great camera. I have a D5100 as well, by the way, but use it less and less. And the 97 was just what I wanted, something early on, although 12 was even earlier than I expected. Have a good week, Gaelyn.
Thanks, I do love that camera but it is way beyond it’s clicks.
Oh, yes…that last photo is so special. Let’s do 636 for next week; the time of yesterday’s flawed Boeing Starliner launch.
Boeing seems to be having several problems lately. #636 for next week.
Oh my gosh that beautiful sunset and the beautiful news that goes along with it — so glad. I smiled at every picture and that one was the crowning touch! Has everyone already picked 2020? If it is already taken, just give me any # you want — can’t go wrong with your pictures. Merry Christmas!
Thank you. Using the big camera was a treat. #2020 for next week.
The last one is my favorite this week. Glad you’re able to use the big camera again. Other favorites are the Canyon, of course. Number 2345 for next week, please!
Thanks. Felt like a real accomplishment to use the big camera. #2345 for next week.
