This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers including an old dog, a vintage ride, and ancient rock.
Jo chose #2711. I always say “there’s no bad views of Grand Canyon” but visitors don’t always agree when clouds settle in and block the view. However, that’s some of my favorite views of the canyon. This shot taken when I worked on the North Rim 6-10-15 from Walhalla overlook looking east.
Lisa chose #444. Those who have followed for a long time might remember Carson, my previous pet and companion.
Diane and Nigel chose #612. You may have noticed this image on the sidebar as it’s available for print. I found it an immense challenge to photograph Buckskin Gulch slot canyon because of the sharp contrast of light and shadow.
Tredeuce chose #8998. A spur trail from Wire Pass and before Buckskin Gulch leads to the famous Wave where this shot was taken 8-19-15. Love the colors, patterns, and textures of the sculpted sandstone.
Yogi chose #9419. He likes car shows so might even know what this is. One of many “classics” I saw at the Yarnell Car Show during April 2015.
Rita chose #5179, a panorama, and she likes to see pics of Grand Canyon. But then who doesn’t. One of my favorite places to camp and storm watch is Crazy Jug Point along the North Rim in the Kaibab National Forest. Also nice for sunsets like this taken 7-8-15.
Jennifer chose #0056. As a bird watcher, she might understand the pesky birds like this Grey Go-away-bird begging for handouts at the café in Pilanesberg Game Reserve, South Africa. Yes, that’s really its name.
Jeff chose #3421, “as the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes win 34-21 over Wisconsin to claim the Big 10 title.” I believe Canyonlands should be one of the Big 10 of Utah National Parks. And I’ve only seen a bit of The Needles District where this shot was taken 9-25-15.
My choice with phone through windshield of a crazy sky on my morning drive to Wickenburg PT. This is going very slow approaching one of those darn roundabouts and if you look closely there’s a sculpture in the middle of a spur that goes on cowboy boots.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Hi Gaelyn, Great photo’s here, I love the one North of the Grand Canyon even though it’s misty. My favourite this week is your dog Carson with that tell tale look………. ” Can I have my breakfast now please” No 9976 for next week please. Have a great weekend and take it easy.
Thanks. Carson was a special dog. Guess they all are. #9976 for next week.
I love my bird! Thank you! The rocks are the best, though. #7908
You always like the rocks best. A woman after my own heart. 😉 #7908 for next week.
Oh my favorite is Buckskin Gulch! I was at an art show in Albuquerque and was mesmerized by a slot Canyon shot with a ladder. The artist told me it required processing 15 different exposures into one to get all the detail in the light and shadow. If I had 1000 bucks and a wall to put it on I would have bought it!! I have found a space for your calendar, however. Maybe 97 for the year I hiked Little Wildhorse.
I believe that photographer was on the right track. Perhaps my next calendar will have a slot canyon. #97 for next week.
Frantically busy day today so my comment is quite late!!! As always very hard to choose a favourite, but we think our photo of Buckskin Gulch and the shot of Carson take equal favourite. 1312 for next week please. Take care a look after those wrists. Diane and Nigel
Thanks. #1312 for next week.
Oh wow, I love the photo you picked for me, How did you know. Those are called rat rods and they spend a lot of money to make them look rusty and very dangerous. Supposedly kind of a back to the roots movement in hot rods.
My number next week is 1214!!
I vaguely remember you mentioning rat rods before, but… #1214 for next week.
Hi Gaelyn, the pic of Carson is my absolute favorite. The Go-away-bird’s call is GWAAY. Hence it’s name. You got a great shot of it. My number for next week is 4590. Have a great week. Jo
I remember listening to the GWAAY and they were quite friendly near the cafe. #4590 for next week.
Carson is my favorite this week. Dogs somehow make everything better. Number 642 for next week, please!
Carson is my favorite too. Cats work also. #642 for next week.
Love both the foggy and the clear canyon. Also sweet Carson and the gorgeous slot. #1117 please.
The Carson shot was my favorite. #1117 for this week.
