This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers including quite a few shots of South African wildlife.
Diane and Nigel chose #2809. While on a safari drive it is important to watch for all size animals like this Jackal Buzzard at Mountain Zebra National Park, South Africa.
Pam and John also chose #2809. From the same South Africa journey in 2013 a few weeks later while driving over Swartberg Pass.
Jeff and Fran are both celebrating 70 years young and so chose #7070. Happy Birthdays with a sunset view through the pines from where my RV was parked in 2014 at the North Rim.
Sherry and David chose #1625. Saw this Drakensberg Brown butterfly along a trail they’d like to saunter to Sterkspruit Falls in South Africa.
Yogi chose #3516. A pair of unidentified birds of prey seen at Addo Elephant National Park in South Africa in 2013.
Rita chose #1185. I hang crystals in the RV windows to bring rainbows into my home. This one has landed on a sterling silver filigree box.
Jodee and Bill chose #3211. I’d say this Black-backed Jackal is probably looking for something to eat. A rather common South African mammal about the size of our coyotes. This one seen at Addo Elephant National Park in 2013.
Sallie and Bill chose #1018. Heading off the Kaibab Plateau, State Route 89 will parallel those Vermilion Cliffs for about 35 miles. Taken 4-18-09.
My choice this week is October’s photo in the 2019 calendar. If you haven’t ordered one already just let me know in a comment and I’ll add you to the list. Following my favorite monsoon season, the gold of Autumn in the Kaibab National Forest of northern Arizona.

Wonderful set of photos and it goes without saying that I love all the SA ones. That Drakensberg butterfly is great and I love he Jackal buzzard. Having said that, Autumn in the Kaibab National Forest is just fabulous.
I have just returned from the airport and Nigel should now be winging his way to the UK.
510 for next week please. All the best from us both. Diane and Nigel
Thanks Diane. Hope all goes well in the UK for Nigel. #510 for next week.
The Jackal Buzzard is so cute and that Black-Backed Jackal is gorgeous! Love your golden aspens. Such a beautiful sight.
#1005
Thanks. #1005 for next week.
I very much love the photo of the aspens in their autumn splendor. Makes me want to follow that road ! I am leaving for a trip around a small portion of the southwest this coming week, so pick #1009, the date I take flight to go. My eyes long to see more of the beauty of this magnificent world !
I wish to be on the Kaibab to watch the fall colors. A road trip sounds wonderful. Enjoy your travels. #1009 for next week.
Hard to believe it’s Friday already! Wonderful critters from South Africa. My jackal has such a beautiful coat! Love the rainbow on the little box. I might have to get some hanging crystals and add more rainbows to our lives :-))
#6221 for next week please.
Yea, where does the week go? 😉 I love hanging crystals but do remember they can start a fire if too close to burnables. #6221 for next week.
That’s the smallest buzzard I’ve ever seen and the most attractive too. Gorgeous shot of the jackal. What colors and patterns. Love those gorgeous aspens! Nice pick on your part. I’ll take 9118 for next week please.
Thanks Sherry. Almost felt like I was on safari with all the SA wildlife. #9118 for next week.
Your jackal has such unusual coloring it’s a favorite, along with the gold of the quaking aspens. Fall is finally closing in. We stayed close to home this year. I’d 2755 the number of miles on the RV so far this year.
I miss the changing colors of fall aspen and wish I had that many miles this year. #2755 it is.
Wonderful set of photo’s Gaelyn. The Jackal is very unusual and at first I thought something was riding on its back, until I took a closer look. Love the butterfly its a lovely close up. My favourite is the October photo for your calendar taken at the Kaibab National Forest of North Arizona. The autumn colours are beautiful. no 9537 for next week please. Have a great weekend
Thanks. The Jackal seems to wear a saddle. I so miss those golden fall colors. #9537 for next week.
I love the sunset through the pines and especially the autumn shot you re putting in your calendar.
