This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by nine readers including a couple of old stoneworks and lots of old stone at Grand Canyon.
Diane and Nigel chose #2505. Where they live and travel in France they see a lot of marvelous old buildings. A little different are these Native American built, 700-1000 year old ruins, Twin Towers and Eroded Boulder House, at Hovenweep National Monument, Utah. I especially like the house to the right under the boulder.
Sue gets #121 for the number of words in her comment. More stonework but this time a wall in Frankfurt Germany.
Pam and John also chose #2505. They know the House Rock Valley Road and followed Bill and I on it after our adventure to White Pocket.
Jeff chose #1942, the year “Manzanar opened Feb 21 and 2 days later Goleta was shelled.” Seems fitting for that sad date to see this dark sky over a morning lit Grand Canyon.
Jodee and Bill chose #8221. Rain fell in the distant Grand Canyon while hiking with Jim and Gayle along the Rainbow Rim trail from Parissawampitts Point on the Kaibab National Forest.
Rick gets #56 for the number of words in his last week comment. That’s me with my Dad in an old scanned photograph from 1956 in Hinsdale, Illinois where I grew up.
Yogi chose #6950. Looking across canyon to the South Rim smoke is seen from a controlled burn.
Rita chose #889. Yet another view across canyon this time past Sky Island towards the southeast from the North Rim’s Walhalla overlook.
Sallie and Bill chose #1940. They are on the road right now between Florida and Oregon and if they had the right vehicle could make the rough 65-mile drive to Toroweap which offers an iconic view of Grand Canyon.
My choice is the wildlife seen last week. The one hummingbird feeder stays very busy. Bird seed goes out every morning and the Jays will bully the sparrows. In this dry environment I fill five water bowls every morning and this Javelina found the one closest to the door. Hard to see but that’s a skunk tail on a friends porch eating cat food.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?

Nothing beats your canyon views. You were a cute little girl. What happened to your curls?
5001 is my number of next week.
GPDR – I am ignoring it. If I end up in prison will you send me a post card every now and then?
Thanks. I am missing those views. The curls weren’t natural. Hoping a friend can solve the GDPR problem. #5001 for you.
On the mobile again. These are a fantastic set of photos, love them all but my favourite is you with your Dad. 206 for next week please. Take care and have a good weekend. Diane and Nigel
Thanks Diane. #206 for next week.
You consistently have great views of the canyon, and your back yard is certainly an interesting collection of critters. June is a month for graduations, I’d like 457, the number of kids advancing with Aj from her middle school.
I’m really missing the canyon so love to see these views pop up. #457 for you.
Love the photo of you and your dad. Remember the vertical and horizontal control knobs on TVs? My dad trained me to adjust them, as I was his remote.
Diana and I stepped on the benchmark at the top of Cadillac Mountain at Acadia NP today, so we will go with 1530 for next week…the height of the peak. Time to finish my JR book. 🙂
I too was the trained TV remote. I am jealous of your visit to Acadia, a park I long to see. #1530 seems perfect for next week.
Tried on my laptop again. No luck. Thought I did a tedious phone comment last week, guess not. Love all 4 canyon pictures and LOL at the variety of your wildlife. I’m scared of Javalinas.
My favorite is of you staring at the blank tv screen. What a flashback for me. #137 please.
I remember you commented on the phone last week. Guess I screwed up and didn’t get on this list. Sorry. This whole problem with commenting is getting old.
Although I’m not afraid of the javelinas I don’t want to startle them. #137 for you.
I looked at every post and every pic between here and the top and could have commented on each post, but restrained myself ..enjoyed it all, except I wish you were doing what you should be (and want to be) doing .
