This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 10 images chosen by readers including me petting a Cheetah. Well sort of.
Rita chose #357. Last light at Grand Canyon from one of my favorite South Rim viewpoints, Lippan Point, taken 1-30-11.
Sherry and David chose #182. I’m really not into Christmas but do like to decorate and this was from 2008. My 10” tree was decorated with old rhinestone clip-on earrings. Although I still have the books everything else here was lost in the 2013 Yarnell fire.
Yogi chose #4932. Lions frequently sleep overnight on the warm road so are often seen on early morning drives. Took this shot 2-8-14 on a return visit to Kruger National Park after my laptop was stolen in South Africa.
Sue chose #581. A Weidmeyer’s Admiral butterfly rests on a log in the Kaibab National Forest.
Jeff chose #1937, “the year the Torote (Elephant Tree) was first documented in Anza Borrego” which is almost his backyard. Although I visited in 2014 I don’t know this tree, or this rock either which I saw hiking.
Diane and Nigel chose #501. They may remember seeing the Jacob Lake fire tower during their visit a couple years ago. The view from the top is stupendous.
Pam and John chose #1005. Perfect choice for Pam the dog whisperer. This big boy belonged to a friend in Cave Junction, Oregon when I lived there in 2006.
Donna chose #857. From my first visit to Kruger National Park, South Africa in 2010. As close as I could get to a Cheetah sighting.
Jodee and Bill chose #4420. Hope you can see the birds near shore at West Coast National Park during my 2013 visit.
Sallie and Bill chose #7201. Zebras seen on a morning drive in Karoo National Park, South Africa during my last visit in 2014.
My choice from Tuesday, the day after Arizona finally saw some rain. The morning clouds looked like waves over the Weaver Mountains seen from my back door in Yarnell, Arizona.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Good morning Gaelyn Wow at last I hit on the Grand Canyon. I do have a favourite for this week, well two to be exact, if that’s allowed. No 4932 the lion sleeping on the roadside and I love the dog whisperer. No 7324 is my choice for the next photo Friday. Hope you are keeping well and the weather is being kind for you.
Getting a photo of Grand Canyon is usually not too difficult. The weather has been unseasonably warm, which I like but know isn’t good. Have you down for #7324 for next week. Be well.
Love the picture of you with the cheetah, excellent. As always though all interesting photos. Sad about the fire though, you lost a lot of history there but thankfully you were not on the spot,
We are both not feeling up to scratch and I am beginning to wonder if we will be until spring arrives!! We need some sum and natural warmth! 1201 for next week please. Take care and thanks for following Viewbug. Hugs, Diane and Nigel
Thanks Diane. I’ve just started on Viewbug. I don’t like you both being sick for this long. Maybe need another vacation somewhere warm. Like SA. You get #1201 next week.
I love all your pics. I really like the zebra pic. I would love to see some of the critters that I have seen only in zoos, in the wild.
random dot org says 4736 for next week.
Have a good weekend.
Thanks Yogi. Not sure I can visit zoos anymore. You and Random get #4736 next week.
Oh, yes! Our photo is perfect for me:) What a cute, big guy! He’s looking for the Treat Lady!! Love those wave clouds in your photo.
#2110
That dog might have eaten your pockets to get to the treats, but in a nice sloppy way. 😉 #2110 for you next week.
Woooohoooo!! I can “get in” again! What a fun variety of handsome critters, stunning locations, and personal glimpses. Our pic at the West Coast NP looks similar to the Salton Sea where we are today.
#2190 for next week please.
I did an update last week so maybe that solved your commenting problem but now Patti can’t comment. That West Coast shot really does look like the Salton Sea. Hope the wind wasn’t blowing in your face there. Have you down for #2190.
I enjoyed all the animal pictures, including the one of you petting the cheetah.
Next week: #867
Thanks. What’s not to like about animals. You get #867 next week.
I think Rita picked the photo this week, altho I like my choice since your rock was also from Anza Borrego. I’d like #5250 – the cost of a San Diego parking ticket $52.50 – next week
That was some fine light at the canyon. So you get #5250. Is that to park or for illegally parking?
There seems to be a misunderstanding as the officer thought I was in a ‘pull-through’ spot – reserved for boat trailers, and I thought having a planter box sharing the spot prevented any sane person from pulling through. So it was for a ticket …. and I still contend I was not illegally parked. The judge shall decide!
Damn, that sucks. Sounds like the cop was having a bad hair day. Good luck.
Another Friday with great pictures. I do love the little Christmas tree with the clip on ornaments. Wish I could have seen it in person. Great picture of you Cheetah. Seems it should be time to go back and look for a live one. The lighting on the Zebras is perfect. They almost seem to glow. How beautiful they and the lion are. I’ll have #5224 for next week please.
Thanks. That Christmas tree was perfect for the time. It is way past time for me to return to South Africa. Saving money for 2019. Want to go along? #5224 for you next week.
I’m glad your part of the world finally got some rain. Love ‘our’ Zebras and my other favorite is the lion in the middle of the road… I just can never get over thinking about that happening!
I’m so impressed by your organizational skills the way you number your shots — and can find them — — (this random thought brought on by the fact that I still have approximately 7 million trip photos to sort and label and blog about.)
111 for next time? Jan 11 was our oldest grandson’s 35th birthday — how the heck did that happen? I’m pretty much the same age.
Always a delight when it rains in the desert but the ground is already dry and we need lots more.
I just leave the camera number on the photos but I am anal about labeling them. Someday, I may not remember where they were taken. 😉 Almost done with May.
You get #111 next week.
