This week’s Foto Friday Fun features eight images chosen by readers including several lovely scenes in South Africa and the Southwest.
Jodee and Bill chose #5210. A simple one lane bridge over one of the many rivers in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
Jo and Grant chose #7251. Delightful mountains and rolling hills seen along the N12 on the way to Oudtshoorn, South Africa.
Diane and Nigel chose #7011, for Nigel’s November birthday. Roses for him seen along the N12 just north of George, South Africa and not far from the image above.
Sherry and David chose #1110. Sandstone buttes along Johnson Canyon Road and not far from their last week’s choice of the hanging effigy.
Yogi chose #9978. Like a table cloth as low clouds drape over some temples in Grand Canyon as seen from the North Rim 8-30-15.
Pam and John chose #9010. Salt pans along the road to Upington, South Africa.
Patti and Abi chose #520. Fall aspen contrast with the evergreens along a golden meadow on the road to the Widforss Trail North Rim Grand Canyon.
Donna chose #787. Muddy water from the Paria River swirls into the blue-green Colorado River after heavy rain. Taken from Navajo Bridge 6-26-09.
My choice, first light on the Eastern Sierras from where I camped last weekend by Red Hill and Little Lake Fossil Falls before hanging out at the Alabama Hills for a few days.
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
No favourites but all great photos, you have such a good eye. Next week 1711 please. We will be on the road all day next Friday, and in the air all day Saturday, so it might take me a while to catch up so can you have 2411 for the following week in case I have connection problems. By then I hope I can get back to some sort of normality. Thanks Gaelyn. Take care, Diane and Nigel.
Thank you Diane. Safe travels. #1711 for this week and #2411 the next.
Hi Gaelyn, at last I’m partaking in your FFF post. My favorite is the image (the sky is brilliant!) with sandstone buttes at Johnson Canyon Road. My numner for next week is 3825. Have you seen the Drakensberg mountains on my blog post and facebook page? Unbelievable snow in November! Have a great week. Jo
Glad you’ve joined in the fun. Utah’s sandstone buttes look much like your Golden Gate area. I saw the gorgeous photos of the snow on the Drakensberg and wondered why in summer. Have you down for #3825 next week.
That Grand Canyon cloud tablecloth photo is really cool, Gaelyn!
Let’s see #418 next week.
Thanks. I love to see the low clouds wrap around the rocky canyon topography. Have you down for #418.
My FAVOURITE PHOTO OF THIS WEEK WAS CHOSEN BY YOGI NO 9978 I love the Grand Canyon.
My choice for next photo Friday is number 7354.
Low monsoon clouds are like magic drifting around the canyon’s temples. You get #7354 next.
Lots of good pictures this week, but I do believe that I like my choice the best.
Next week: #797
I love that Colorado River view from the bridge too. Next week, #797 for you.
Interesting how this weeks choices are mostly open scenery. We are looking forward to driving out Johnson Canyon Road next March when we visit Paige.
#7111
Think about Johnson Canyon, Scutumpah, and Cottonwood Canyon loop.
All great photos, but I like Red Hill – mostly because I’ve enjoyed that early morning view so many times. Since you are going to the Alabama Hills next I’ll take #1864 the Battle of Cherbourg, where the Union ship Kearsarge defeats the Confederate raider Alabama off the coast of France.
Thanks Jeff. I truly like that Fossil Falls area. You, the history buff, gets #1864 next.
I never tire of your photos of Aspens, my favorite tree! And such a pretty contrast between the Aspen golds and the evergreens.
#530 for next week. It’s turning chilly in Porto and Christmas lights are being strung throughout the city.
Although the Christmas lights are pretty it’s just too soon. Of course I’m never ready for winter cold. You get #530 next week.
Hadn’t heard from you in a while so I went looking to see if I’d missed a post and it appears I did. So let me hurry and get my number in for this week. How about 2311? So hard to pick favorites. Love your choice for this week and the Paria River shot. But then the colors in the scene along N12 and the Sandstone Buttes are so brilliant, I love them too.
You know how difficult it is to keep up to real time when on the road. Plus I’m way behind reading blogs too. Have you down for #2311.
