This week’s Foto Friday Fun features eight images chosen by readers from my photo files including young lions and a fun sign from Texas.
Diane and Nigel get #35 for the number of words in their comment. A very tiny print that was scanned of me back in 1972 in Champagne, Illinois. My boyfriend Cletus and I rented a canoe and went for a paddle.
Sherry and David chose #685. When visiting the Museum of Big Bend in Alpine, Texas there was a room full of art.
Jeff chose #9210, “the first four digits of PB/) zip code, where I’ll join the beach fest this weekend.” No beach at Augrabies Falls National Park, South Africa, just rocks.
Jodee and Bill chose #3151. An unusual spider egg sac seen in Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa.
Pam and John chose #1008. Seems everyone who travels through or near Kanab, Utah knows about and visits the famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
Yogi chose #4698. Stare down from these youngsters in Kruger National Park, South Africa. My favorite for this week.
Patti and Abi chose #480. A long and steep hike on the Havasupai Reservation is worth this amazing view of the Havasu Falls.
My choice was posted on the Grand Canyon Facebook page with this text: “The Fall colors are to die for on the North Rim. But better visit soon as temperatures and leaves are dropping.”
Thank you for playing along with Foto Friday Fun which allows me to share these photographs and memories. Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below.
Do you have a favorite this week?
My favourite is the Lions, they are adorable, but I love all your other photo’s which makes me wish I was there. Thanks for sharing. I would like to Join so here is a number 9977 but I am not sure how this works as I am new to this.
Thanks for joining in Rita. I wish I was going on safari this winter for more lion sightings. There is nothing else for you to do but check back next week and see what image pops up for #9977.
Yep..those lions are awesome, Gaelyn! Put us down for 8591 this week.
Thanks. When that lion shot came up I was very excited. Made me want to go on safari again real soon. Have you down for #8591.
Love that photo of the lions! Interesting that our photo choice was Best Friends. Friends were just there for five days volunteering. Such a great organization. I didn’t realize it was so large. We’ve only driven by it.
#3101
Thanks. I was thinking of the coincidence of Best Friends having just read of Jim and Gayle being there. The complex is huge. Have you down for #3101.
We used to have a black widow as a pet – so a spider web is awesome for us!! Love the beautiful lions. Those eyes :-)))
9363 for next week please.
It was so fun to see you again!!!!
OK, a rather unusual pet and not my preference. The lions look right into my soul. Have you down for #9363. Hope we cross trails again this winter.
The lion cubs are my favorite too … what a thrill to come across them as you traveled. The ‘one beer’ picture reminds me of a woman we used to know…. she said her Dr told her to drink only one glass of wine daily, so she had to buy one that held almost a quart.
May I play again next week? How about #60.
Although elephants are my favorite safari animal the lions are a close second. They seem more attentive to us in the cars. You get #60.
Great pictures this week. That lion is my fave too followed by Havasu Falls. Very interesting that our choice was of Big Bend which David has lately been talking about wanting to go to. As a craft beer lover he thought the cartoon was great. Also love seeing the early 70s photo of you. We were all so young then. How did time go by so fast? Great Halloween picture and caption as well. I’ll try #6091 fir next week please.
Thanks. The lions are very attentive and seem to look into my soul. I didn’t make it into Big Bend NP so maybe we need to meet there. You get #6091.
Ooops sorry time has not been on my side and thanks for giving me a number. Memory problems me thinks !!!
Another great series of photos and I love those lions, spectacular shot. I was so sorry we did not seen and cats while on our visit in Feb 🙁 1410 for next week please. Have a great Sunday. Diane and Nigel
Thanks Diane. The lions always seem to stare right at us on safari. #1410 for you.
Your pictures all capture a story, that’s hard to do. I find the eyes on the lions mesmerizing, but Havasu Falls calls out. We spent the morning in Tecate, I’d like 1775 the elevation of Tecate Mexico for next week.
Thank you Jeff. I do often try to capture more than just an instant image. The lions are good posers. Should definitely tackle the Havasu hike. So you get #1775.
I love all the scenery pics, but, oh, those lions take my heart.
Next week: #747
Thanks Donna. Every time I saw lions on safari they took my breath away. #747 for you next week.
