This week’s Foto Friday Fun features mostly old images chosen by nine readers from my photo files as last week I just felt like delving back further in my files and that’s why I lowered your number choice. Of course the quality of these oldies is not the best especially after having scanned old prints. Sure was fun to dig them out.
Patti chose #60. At only two years old I already had the desire to go, go, go. This is my Dad and I, 1956, in Hinsdale, Illinois. Don’t you just love the old car.
Sherry and David chose #605. I got snowed on in April 2009 during this visit to Wupatki National Monument on my way north to drop a truckcamper in Kanab storage then return to Yarnell for my 5th-wheel to be taken to the North Rim. Sound vaguely familiar?
Mary Lou chose #47. An exceedingly fuzzy photo of a pastel drawing I did for a class in 1987 at Shoreline Community College in Washington state.
Diane and Nigel chose #5554. I know they wished to be visiting Grand Canyon during Native American Heritage Days but missed it by a few months this year. Maybe next time. It is always a show stealer to watch the hoop dancing.
Pam and John chose #107. When living in the wet Pacific Northwest during 2007 I got used to seeing slugs and snails on the diversified Siskiyou National Forest floor. They look rather cartoon like making their slow crawl across the pine needles.
Donna chose #70. I did a lot of exploring when working at Mt St Helens duirng the 1990s. This shot taken on the south side of the volcano looks across the Smith Creek Lahar to Mt Hood in the far distance.
Jodee and Bill forgot to leave a number so they get #37 for the number of words in their comment. Think I looked like a motorcycle Mama back in 1972? My boyfriend taught me how to ride against my parents approval. Years later I actually owned my own motorcycle. I kind of miss this fair-weather form of transportation.
Yogi chose #49.81 for the “West Texas Intermediate price of crude oil in Cushing, Oklahoma.” I rounded down to 49, because I can. And here’s a fuel efficient cycle leaving our BLM camp along Mittery Lake just north of Yuma, Arizona in 1997. Some of the early days of living on the road.
Sallie chose #99. Me at 14 years old still smiling even with a mouth full of braces. I always hated this outfit and have never considered yellow as my color to wear, or bright red and orange for that matter. But Mom probably picked out this outfit for my 1968 school photo.
Echo Cliffs below Page, Arizona
Fall on Humphreys Peak Flagstaff, Arizona
This week I’m sharing several photos from the return visit to Yarnell two weeks ago to drop off the truckcamper. Next week I’ll be making that drive again this time towing the 5th-wheel. And less likely to be taking photos. 😉

Weaver Mountains Yarnell, Arizona
Please join in next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below. A big thanks to everyone for playing along with Foto Friday Fun and allowing me to share these photographs and memories. Without you Foto Friday Fun wouldn’t exist.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Enjoyed them all especially your earlier photos and memories. Please put me down for 7514 for next week.
Thanks Mary Lou. It was a fun week. Have you down for #7514.
Loved the older photos!! Very cool seeing a little of your past:) I loved that snail and we are heading that way next summer! You fit that motorcycle perfectly:)
#14
Thanks Pam. You’ll love the PNW, except warn John there’s Lots of trees. 😉 Have you down for #14.
How I wish we had seen that dancing but it was not to be. Love that first shot of yours, if you look on My Life Before Charente and select the label bicycle you will see me in almost the identical photo LOL. Love that last night shot at Weaver Mountains it is stunning. Hope your weekend is a good one, all the 5’s for me next week please. 5555. Diane
Thanks Diane. I’ll bet many of us had a tricycle like that. My last weekend working. Have you down for #5555.
Great pictures. I like he old car also. What happens if you pull up a low #28.
Thanks Ann & Bill. Check next week to see what #28 gets you.
Oh, I love my photo choice this week. You and your trike wearing your little sweater and your dad mowing the lawn. It’s classic and I’m a big fan of retro images and lives. 1956 is the year I was born so we’re not too far apart. Your photo of you on the motorcycle – wow! I’ve ridden a couple of times (way back in the day) and those things terrify me but I applaud your “You go girl!” attitude. 🙂
Next week: I’m going with another low # – 74
Thanks Patti. It was really fun going way back into the archives. I’d have a motorcycle today if I could afford it but really only like to ride in good weather. Have you down for #74.
I’d have to say it would be a toss-up between the snail photo and the Weaver mountains at the end. But then again there’s that windmill, which I especially like. For next weeks picture I’ll leave you with #51, the year I was born and had my first camping trip with my parents.
Not easy for me to pick a favorite either. Will put you down for #51 for next week. Thanks for playing along.
Love these pictures. The old ones of you on your bikes and with braces are great. Wonderful shot of the snail. My favorite “might” be the last starry night over the mountains. Really beautiful halo. I’d like number 70 for next time please.
Thanks Sherry. It was really fun digging out these oldies. Once in a while I get lucky with night sky. Have you down for #70.
Next week: #277
You get #277 for next week.
I love it that you rounded, “because you can”. Dang right you can, its your gosh darned blog and that is what makes America great!!
I love all the vintage pics and your comment that your Mom picked out your outfit. So did mine!!
I like the number 25 for next week, just cuz I can, if you agree.
You’ve taught me well. You get #25 next week, because you, and I, can.
I love your memories — but all I can think of is what a youngster you are (that sounds better, to me anyway, than saying what an oldster I am). In 1968, I was a busy (and broke) mom of 4, with a husband who had just gone back to college. The kids were fortunately still to young for the braces most of them had when they were the age you were in my choice of picture (after we were both working again). I keep putting off my goal of scanning some of our old pics. Someday …..
If I’m not too late for your Friday post, I will take any old leftover number you feel like giving me. I’ll do better next week.
Where I’m moving I’ll probably still be the youngster. Do scan those old photos for yourself and family.
I dedicate my choice for you this week as the post is already scheduled.
