This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers from my photo files including a “secret” place in Utah and yet another blast from the past.
Pam and John chose #7362, one of four in a panorama. A place I believe they’d like to hike just off the upper Buckskin Canyon trail in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. The southern Utah landscapes are always full of surprises.
Mary Lou chose #1366. When wintering in Yarnell, Arizona the Weaver Mountains are out my western door and I found many old tracks to follow up into the boulders.
Diane and Nigel chose #5551. I’m sure they’ll remember driving through the ten year old burn in the Kaibab National Forest outside the North Rim. This snowy view was from the last drive of the 2015 season before the road closed for winter.
Patti chose #5156. This young Waterbuck paused to look back at us before disappearing into the bush at Kruger National Park, South Africa.
Donna chose #248. A different view looking up at the Weaver Mountains and Highway 89, or the Yarnell Hill. My walks from the other side often got to the top so I could look back down.
Jodee and Bill chose #6029. A drive I think they’d like between Kanab and Cannonville on the Skutumpah Road through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. More amazing Utah landscape.
Sherry and David chose #1010. A pond with coy at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. A place you can adopt a pet. I believe they have two RV spaces for volunteers.
Barb chose #4, the age her adorable grandson Sam just turned. She lives in a mansion in the forest compared to this tiny cabin I lived in back in 1998 at Eagles Cliff Resort, Washington.
My choice taken this week while visiting Berta in Yarnell, Arizona where the hummingbirds must have been gorging for a migration south. Have to love their tenacity.
If you’re reading, commenting or just following along please join in for next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below. A big thanks to everyone for playing along with Foto Friday Fun and allowing me to share these photographs and memories.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Enjoyed all of the photos this week- thanks for sharing. Please put me down for 2337 for next week.
Thank you. Have you down for #2337.
Hi Gaelyn I love the cabin you lived in in the forest. Blessings Jo
Thanks Jo. It was a very sweet little place.
Always sad to see large areas burnt out but it also does a great job of returning new life. I am always sad for the slow moving animals and insects that cannot get out of the way. Love the water-buck 🙂 5552 for next week please. Have a good weekend and take care, Diane and Nigel.
I’m getting more used to forest fires and what they do for the ecology. I’m sure some creatures don’t make it. May you see a Waterbuck in SA. Have you down for #5552.
This is the place we tried to find when hiked the Upper Buckskin and couldn’t find it. Darn! Love the Waterbuck! A new animal for me and so cute:)
#8236
It’s a secret place. Have you down for #8236.
hi there — remember me? I think the comment is going to work this time!! Thanks for the ‘Christmas present’ last week (the photo with my number on it) while I couldn’t comment. Enjoyed today’s selections especially the itty bitty cabin which looks like it would have been fun for a season. Best Friends does have RV Spaces (or did anyway back when our daughter-in-law worked for them for a short while). We were across the country and never had a chance to visit there but she kept telling us there were spaces.
Anyway give me 9999 unless somebody else has already chosen it. nice to be back, glad you got things worked out.
Welcome back. Don’t know what changed but glad you could comment. That cabin was awesome! Best Friends does have a few RV spaces. Have you down for #9999.
Love your house in Eagle Cliffs and those clouds in the first two pictures of the Vermilion Cliffs. I remember that pond at Best Friends. What an amazing place. Lucky are the animals who arrive there. How about #916 for next time? REALLY LOVE that I can comment again from Chrome and don’t have to try to remember to bring up IE!
Seems the commenting problem solved itself. So glad. Best Friends is a great place. Have you down for #916.
Beautiful pictures as always. Next week I choose # 257.
Thanks Donna. Have you down for #257.
Another great collection of photos, I like my little waterbuck. I think he was saying, “What are you looking at?!”
#4215 for next week. Just because.
Thanks Patti. Have you down for #4215.
Oh yes, we would definitely love that drive – can’t wait to see Utah! I agree you little cabin is delightful. That Buckskin Canyon is gorgeous. 2305 for next week please.
So much to see in Utah. Have you down for #2305.
I love your trails up into the Weaver mountains. I love walk up or down trails just to see where they go. I am so bummed that I missed last week.
My number is 666 this week.
I love the trails for what they are and sometimes not where they go. Have you down for #666, you little devil. 😉
I love that little cabin! It got you ready for your RV. Soon you’ll be back on your Weaver Mt trails again. I’ve got to choose 12 this time – Jack just had a birthday!
I like tiny houses, less to clean. 😉 #12 it is especially for Jack.
