This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by seven readers from my photo files including rainbows, flowers, turtle poop and more.
Diane and Nigel chose #6661. Hidden Valley was one of my favorite hikes in Joshua Tree National Park when visiting March, 15, 2015.
Donna chose #137. Although a little blurry I got lucky several times seeing sundogs from my Yarnell winter home. A special treat every time.
Sherry and David chose #9302. I’ve seen many tortoise while visiting South African National Parks but never one pooping like this one at Augrabies Falls the day before my 2014 birthday. OK, so I take photos of weird things.
Jodee and Bill chose #6681. One of the easier parts of the Tsitsikamma Waterfall trail. Mostly it required scrambling up and over the bouldery coast line. Gorgeous scenery and a cave to explore, although not very far in.
Mary Lou chose #7166. Often a gift after monsoon rains at Grand Canyon. Wish I could have slid down into Roaring Springs Canyon on this one from September 2014.
Pam and John chose #5289. Seen along a lovely garden walk at Forever Resort Badplaas where Joan and I camped twice taking advantage of the natural hot water slides. I played like the kid I am.
Patti chose #38, to go “way back in your files.” And so she did with this 1996 scanned shot of a snow covered Mount St. Helens. A winter I’ll never forget when evacuated after snow, rain, wind, and flood.
My choice is a field of lupine at Cedar Breaks National Monument where I’m entranced by the season’s wildflowers.
Plus, I just had to throw this in. Could be what happens when Grandma goes jeeping. Seen in the North Rim Parking lot.

Do you have a favorite this week? Even I can’t choose this week.
Enjoyed all the photos- my favorite this week is the rainbow at the Grand Canyon. Please put me down for 7222 for next week.
Rainbows are always good, especially at the canyon. Have you down for #7222.
The pooping turtle made my morning…too funny!! Gorgeous rainbow photo in the pines:) Interesting tire cover and…very strange:)
#1928
I do tend to take unusual pictures. Wonder if there’s a market for crochet tire covers. Have you down for #1928.
Easy hiking spots are what I like to see! What a beautiful spot. Love the sun dog and of course the crocheted tire cover is the very best :-)))) Might have to look into those if we get a Wrangler! 82 for next week please.
Easy hikes are usually my thing too. Wonder if there’s a market for those crochet tire covers. Have you down for #82.
Next week I choose # 177
Have you down for #177.
Nice photos by everyone, Gaelyn.
Thanks George.
When I read the introduction I was really hoping I was going to get the turtle poop!! Love that shot. There’s just no privacy in the world any more. Love that rainbow too. What a perfect shot. But I have to say my favorite is the crocheted spare tire cover. What an amazing amount of work. I just laughed and laughed when I saw it. I want to meet the woman who did that.
Opps forgot my number for next week. I’ll take 8172 please. How is that jeep spare cover still so white??
Leave it to you to want the poop. 😉 It would take me forever to crochet a cover like that. It was a rather off-white acrylic yarn. Have you down for #8172.
Ha, one pace we did not get to visit, Joshua Tree National Park, but maybe we will see more photos of this place yet! Love the turtle 🙂 and that crochet wheel cover is amazing!!!! 6662 for next week please.
Still not getting around to going through my photos, it is going to take a lot of memory that I have not got next month!!! Take care and all the best to Bill. D & N
Joshua Tree is amazing. Maybe next time. Maybe crochet wheel covers will be come a new rage. I’m always behind labeling photos and quite often have to get a map out and ask Bill where we were. Hi back from him.
That crocheted wheel cover is hilarious! 🙂 For next week I’m choosing #1996 because that is the year you took my photo choice for this week.
May be a new business venture for crocheting Grandmas. 😉 Have you down for #1996.
That tire cover makes me laugh . This great-grandma likes to go Jeeping but there is no danger of my ever crocheting anything, much less that! But it really is hilarious.
We loved hiking in Joshua Tree and so that picture is my favorite today, bringing back fond memories.
I came across a man taking pictures of poo piles in the natural area near our Florida home. He was kind of embarrassed the second time i passed him doing that — and explained that he was sending the pictures to his 9 year old grandson … I told him I bet the kid thinks he has the coolest grandpa ever! Wouldn’t they love your picture of the actual event ;>)
Oh I think i’m getting caught up a little bit, so if you have room I will choose #101 next time. Do the low numbers mean that they are ones you took a long time ago?
Maybe this crochet tire cover thing is a new fad. Don’t think I’ll be whipping one up any time soon. I take scat pics all the time. Is that funny? Have you down for #101, which should be a relatively old pic.
Well, despite the novelty of the turtle pooping (and he really is laying down a log) I like the rainbow.
If it is not too late, I’m going with 4419.
Rainbows are always good. Have you down for #4419.
