This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers from my photo files including several bird shots.
Mary Lou chose #7116. Two years ago during monsoon I was watching a stormy sky from my RV windows and noticed a rainbow over the apartments across the street. I ran outside, jumped in my truck and drove to the rim to get more shots.
Sherry and David chose #5555. A favorite view of the Colorado River and Unkar Delta from Walhalla overlook on the North Rim Grand Canyon National Park. No matter how many photos I take of the same scene the changing light and shadows creates a different look.
Pam and John chose #6028. A great place to camp, and watch sunset, outside the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park on BLM off Cottonwood Springs Road. Stayed here over a weekend before entering the park and would definitely go back.
Jodee and Bill chose #145. A display of chachkies I decorated my winter parked RV during 2011.
Sallie chose #129. This sweet little White-crowned sparrow was seen outside my RV windows in Yarnell, Arizona 11-11-11. An interesting date.
Donna chose #87. During the summer of 2005 when I worked at Mesa Verde I visited Aztec National Monument with another Ranger. The highlight of this site is the restored Great Kiva which looked a bit modernized.
Diane chose #7778. A sunset view similar to what she saw last week during her and Nigel’s visit to the North Rim. This shot was taken through my RV windows during September 2014.
Yogi chose #241, “because yesterday was the 240th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence plus 1 day.” This Cooper’s Hawk seen in Yarnell may not be the national bird but is still important and pretty.
My choice is this male Western Bluebird at his nest hole. This Gamble Oak is located adjacent to the busy parking lot at the North Rim. I’ve stood quietly many times trying to see, but only heard, the chicks.

I am a big fan of altars so my chachkies pic is wonderful! Love the surreal colors of the Joshua Tree NM – a place I loved living for a couple years. Can’t believe it’s Friday already!! 2626 for next week please.
I like little dioramas of stuff as that’s about all one can do in an RV. Have you down for #2626.
Yes me too a big fan of alters. I loved that picture. And of course any and every picture of the canyon. And the birds. Your pictures are all so good. But how can your favorite be one from your last post? I’d like 6816 for next week please.
Thanks Sherry. The bluebird shot was from a post that went out on the Grand Canyon Facebook page. Have you down for #6816.
Darn it! I missed last Friday. I’m throwing in my number this week.

For next week I choose #97
Have you down for #97.
Still catching up; thanks for my white-crowned sparrow … loved it and your bluebird (don’t ever tell me you are not a bird photographer BTW)! And of course the beautiful scenery always makes me happy; I am a scenery junkie after all. Not choosing a number on purpose because (1) it is probably too late; and (2) our Tacoma grandson is visiting this weekend and I will probably get really far behind again).
I thought you’d like the birds but really I just get lucky. I’m way behind reading blogs, and writing for that matter. Working sure takes a lot of time out of life. Enjoy your grandson visit.
