This week’s Foto Friday Fun features images chosen by eight readers from my photo files including marvelous views in South Africa and Grand Canyon.
Mary Lou chose #2426. The patio dining was a delightful place for breakfast at the Old Mill Lodge where I overnighted in Oudtshoorn, South Africa in March 2013.
John and Pam chose #9240, one of three in a panorama. I believe they’d love the hiking at Augrabies Falls National Park in South Africa. This is the view of where Joan and I hiked from the top of Moon Rock. The day before we tried to summit but were rained out.
Patti chose #827. More than half the mohair on earth is produced in South Africa. So I stopped at The Mill Living Center in Plettenberg Bay specifically to buy a mohair blanket. Food pellets are available to feed the Angora goats. Not my usual style of photography but I love this spontaneous shot.
Yogi chose #169, “since that should be the 169th post and the only thing better than a prime number for me is the square of a prime number.” He lost me at ‘number’. This shot is a little fuzzy but then I did have a big ‘prime’ bison crossing the road right in front of me.
Donna chose #77. I’m really pleased with this shot taken in Oregon Caves National Monument while working as a Park Ranger. Lighting is difficult in caves and this was a P&S in 2007.
Sherry chose #1905. I’m sure she would enjoy hiking the Suspension Bridge Trail at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa. The forested trail offers views of the Indian Ocean and Storms River Mouth.
Jodee chose #539. Maybe she knows more about old cars than I do. Classic car clubs occasionally drive up to the North Rim causing many gawkers to pause. Saw this Cadillac in October 2012.
Diane chose #7777. Being she’s currently visiting the North Rim she might have seen this view of the Paria Plateau on the drive in.
My choice taken 6-29-16 from Cape Royal watching a storm approach with guests Diane (above) and Nigel. Had a great day dodging a few raindrops.

Do you have a favorite this week?
Enjoyed them all- my favorite is Oregon Caves. Thanks for sharing! Please put me down for 7116 for next week.
Thanks Mary Lou. Have you down for #7116.
Love that storm above the canyon and for absolutely sure I’d love to walk that suspension bridge. How fabulous! Really great picture of the stalactites at Oregon Caves. I think my favorite though is the one of the sweet eye to eye connection between the little one and the angora goat. Just a wonderful picture. Too bad the child and parents couldn’t have a copy. They’d love it too. I’d like # 5555 for next week please.
Thanks Sherry. Monsoon is coming and there will be plenty more amazing storms over the canyon. That child was precious to watch as he tentatively fed the goat. Have you down for #5555.
Marvelous photo in the cave! I’ve never seen the blue color before. Walking across that suspension bridge would be interesting and very scary!
#6028
Thanks Pam. The cave soda straws are almost transparent at the tips. Guess that’s where the blue comes from. I didn’t find the bridge scary at all but it kind of miffed me when people would try to rock it while I was taking photos. Have you down for #6028.
I know little about cars, except that the old classics are fun to look at – and that’s a beauty! Love the child and her curious goat 🙂 The cave shot is indeed amazing. It looks like “it” would all just run all over you. 145 for next week please.
Thanks Jodee. I know little about classics either. Have you down for #145.
i’m reading, commenting, and playing along and choose #129 for next week (if you have room for me after my long absence from FFF). Loved all your photos, but am especially impressed with the one in the Caves. I have an awful lot of cave photos that are, essentially, completely useless. Pre-digital and digital, they are all unidentifiable blobs.
Glad to be back.
Thank you and welcome back. I’ll bet it feels good to be home. Cave photos are tough and most of mine are not great but working there for so long I did get a lot of practice and lucky. Have you down for #129.
I’m happy with my cave shot. I like caves because it’s always cool in there and I hate hot weather.
Next week: #87
Thanks Donna. 42F all year long in Oregon Caves. Have you down for #87.
You are so right we saw plenty of similar views. We had a great time with you and Bill, thanks so much. 7778 for next week please Diane
Bill is still talking about how much he likes you two. Maybe I’ll get him to travel internationally yet. Have you down for #7778. Safe journey home.
I love all your pics yet again especially “my” bison.
I’m going for 241 next week although I do realize that I am very late. 241 because yesterday was the 240th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence plus 1 day.
Thanks Yogi. Not too late. Have you down for #241.
That would be great.
