This week’s Foto Friday Saturday Fun features images chosen by nine readers from my photo files including sunsets, birds, and more.
Sherry chose #1716, a wonderful warthog seen in Kruger National Park South Africa during my 2013 visit.
Mary Lou chose #1647, a Starling seen at Storms River Mouth in Tsitsikamma National Park South Africa also during my 2013 visit.
Jean chose #427. When living in Yarnell I used to feed and watch the birds all winter. The Cardinals are especially fun with their bright color. This guy looks a little puffed up due to the obvious cold.
John and Pam chose #5987. If they haven’t hiked the Willis Creek trail yet it should go on their list, and invite me along as I haven’t either. Located off the Skutumpah Road in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Diane chose #9997, a sunset view from where my RV was parked last year at the North Rim. Love the golden fall colors on this one.
Sallie chose #7021. Yet another sunset from the RV, but this one taken recently in Kanab.
Jodee chose #057. A very interesting view looking down on the Colorado River from Navajo Bridge. A fellow Ranger was onboard rafting the upper river much like I’d done the year before on the lower river.
Donna chose #9999, another sunset from my RV on the North Rim.
Yogi chose #5000, the remains of a building at Riggs Spring in the Kaibab National Forest. There are many relics of the cowboy days to be found in the forest.
My choice is Thursday’s view into Bright Angel Canyon from the North Rim. I haven’t had time to take many photos since arriving at the North Rim. I’m happy to report my big Nikon is on its way back to me with a repaired auto focus on the lens. Can’t wait to start using it again.
Please join in for next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below. A big thanks to everyone for playing along with Foto Friday Fun and allowing me to share these photographs and memories.
Do you have a favorite this week?
I miss that view from our old campsite near the Transept Canyon. Beautiful!
Me too. Have you down for #5375.
Oh, and I am choosing #5375, my daughter Emily’s birthday.
I choose #2
#2 it is.
Love the warthog! It doesn’t look like it ought to be real because it is so strange looking.
Too many coincidences…we are heading to Willis Creek the third week of May!! I read about it on another blog, along with Zebra Canyon, so we altered our plans.
#6562
That will be right after we open. Let me know and maybe we can meet up. Coming to the North Rim?
Sorry, we won’t be coming that way. After Bryce Canyon we are heading to Provo and eventually Buffalo, WY.
So envious that you were able to get your camera repaired. Guess if I only paid $350 for mine it isn’t worth anyone’s trouble. I think that is the best picture of a warthog I have ever seen. He actually looks handsome. I want to see what’s down that trail. Great idea to take pictures of trail heads you have to skip. Love, love all your sunsets. #901 please.
Paid under that for repairs and very happy. Have you down for #901.
Love all the photos once again but I am loving all the North Rim ones and so looking forward to seeing for myself. The snowy shots are amazing but I sincerely hope that is something we will miss while there 🙂 9998 for next week please. Hope all is well Diane
Hopefully no snow end of June. Have you down for #9998.
That is one very bright cardinal – so pretty. Love my river pic, and fun that we’re next to it again here in Page! Hope the sun returns to North Rim tomorrow, and that you send it our way as well. The ranger at Wahweap yesterday looked so much like you, but I figured there’d be no reason for you to be over here so I didn’t stop. So your doppelganger works for the parks too!
I think we all look alike because of the uniform. Heavy clouds as I leave Jacob Lake for the rim. Then 3 days at the SR.
I should give you a series of numbers so I don’t keep forgetting! We were almost to Jacob Lake yesterday 🙁 sorry we got a late start and missed you again. 577 for next week please.
Got you down for 577. Sorry to have missed you.
Enjoyed all of the photos especially those of the sunsets. Please put me down for 5116 for next week.
Thanks Mary Lou. Have you down for #5116.
Glad you were able to do a foto-fun; whatever day it is. Wish we could still see birds from our window — loved when we could park the RV where we could do that. Lots of beautiful sunsets this week — you are in the right place for those … and I always love them. I’m terrible at thinking of numbers. I guess 9000.
