What am I doing in a city? You’ve probably noticed I don’t do cities very often. Mostly they don’t give me a good vibe. Yet if I have a knowledgeable guide to lead me around I’m OK. And some things interesting to see. Plus they do offer certain services not found in the rural settings I choose to live in. Besides, in this case, we get to visit Bill’s son and DIL who actually live south of the city, and that gives us a place to stay. Won’t be there long.
Our list is pretty short so a couple days ought to do it. The highest priority is a certified camera repair shop, these are few and far between. The auto focus has quit working on my Nikon. 
Plus I’m sure it’s very dirty having been on safari twice, not to mention all the other places it goes.
Bill has a map order to pick up at the Utah Division of Natural Resources and I’m sure to find something I need want at their bookstore. We’ll also make a stop at REI where I’ve been eyeballing a new pair of hiking boots. And because my birthday is coming up, we’re all going to dinner at the all you can eat Rodizio Grill, a Brazilian steakhouse.
Maybe this city stuff won’t be so bad after all. Should be back by Friday.
If you have a few extra hours take a drive out to Antelope Island. It’s a little gem of wildlife in Salt Lake. Hope that camera repair is easy and painless.

I second Antelope. Have never been to Salt Lake City. We only came for Antelope and left. But you have better reasons to go. We didn’t have any. Although I’d like to see the cathedral just for the spectacle of it.
Unfortunately no extra time for sight seeing. Have seen the temple.
Sounds like fun to me. Gotta’ change things up once in a while.
Don’t go to Antelope Island now or check first. I understand the flies have started. The place is known for needing head netting from March til fall because of flies. We made one visit in June and it was a nightmare!! I have never seen so many bugs…yuck, yuck!!
Anyway…we aren’t fans of cities but I do love short visits. It is so nice to have every store needed right there. Enjoy your city visit. Have a wonderful birthday dinner:)

It was a delicious, and expensive, dinner experience. Thank goodness Bill knows his way around Salt Lake City and knew exactly how to get us to the places we wanted to go. I’d love to have you share Serbia with me, including a few cities.
