This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 7 images chosen by readers from my photo files. Lots of contrast to these images, rocks and plains, summer and winter, nature and human ingenuity.
Diane chose #7009. IMHO, Cape Royal overlook is the best place to watch sunset at Grand Canyon National Park’s North Rim. Here the last rays shine on Angels Gate taken 9-4-14.
Mary Lou chose #7419. My friends really know how to reuse and recycle. If you need a place to stay in Joshua Tree, California I highly recommend this refurbished 1958 Rocket trailer at the Buzzard’s Roost.
Shane chose #7265. This Meiringspoort scene is just one example of the amazing mountain passes in South Africa.
Sherry chose #8372, my favorite photo this week. I feel transported back to March 2014 at Mountain Zebra National Park for the distant views, because it’s about more than just the wildlife.
Yogi chose #9840, a most exciting sighting. Joan and I enjoyed watching this leopard 15-20 minutes as it settled on a branch for a possible catnap at Pilanesberg Game Reserve, South Africa.
Jodee chose #5964. Can never see enough sunsets. This one taken over the Indian Ocean during February 2014 at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa.
Jerry chose #3330, an adorable Mercat keeping watch in Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa.
My choice is the view from my RV window earlier this week with more of that white stuff predicted to fall. Best part of this is slightly increased temperatures which means my water pipes aren’t freezing.
And this Jumpstarter and Tire Inflator bought at Costco after needing to jump-start the truck twice recently due to below freezing temperatures. Hope I never need it but if I do, hope it works. It can be charged by either 110/12v, has a USB port, is about the size of a truck battery with a handle, and weighs 20 pounds. Do you carry anything like this around in your vehicle?
Please join in for next week by leaving a number between 0001 and 9999 in your comment below. Thanks for playing along with Foto Friday Fun.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Wow what a fab collection of photos. Love my north rim shot bu the others are all brilliant, if I really have to choose I guess it has to be the leopard, my favourite wild animal! 6009 for nextwek please. Diane
Thanks Diane. Another teaser for you. The leopard was a fantastic sighting, especially to have to ourselves for so long. Have you down for #6009.
Wow! This is a great collection. My favorite is my picture, absolutely stunning!! Followed closely by the leopard. I just can’t imagine how thrilled I would be to see him in person. I am truly grateful that they have a safe place to be. We carry a compressor for the tires but I the dual purpose of your thing. We sure could have used that jump start lately.
It’s always exciting to see wildlife, and you’ve had your share in FL, even if not a leopard. No number this week?
I just remembered I forgot to put a number AGAIN. I get so wrapped up in your great pictures that I don’t seem to be able to “keep that thought” to the end of my post. SO how about 1847?
Have you down for #1847.
Lovely! Especially loved the long view. at Mountain Zebra.
I received a new small starting device for Christmas. Haven’t yet explored how it’s used. I do carry a pump and have used it often.
Stay warm, and thanks for posting.
6885 for next week, please!
— Anne
Would be nice not to have to use it yet always have it around. Have you down for #6885.
Enjoyed them all. 6102 for next week please.
Thanks Mary Lou. Have you down for #6102.
I carried a jumpstarter/tire inflater like that for a lot of years. Used the inflater 2-3 times, never the jumpstarter. The inflater was very, very slow in getting up to the 30-40# pressure range it would be worthless to me in my Class C where I carry 65# front and 80# rear.
The inflater wouldn’t fill my 80# tires either but 30-40 might get me somewhere better than flat. I bought it for the jumpstarter and the inflater was just a bonus.
I had to go check out Buzzard’s Roost. What a great idea and so cute!
Plus run by awesome people.
My photo is definitely my favorite this week – stunning! Love the leopard too, what a gift to see them like that. Like, Sherry I can’t even imagine! 6072 for next week. And hopefully you’ll have warmer temps this week!!!
Thanks Jodee. So fun to see wildlife in the wild. How I want to return to South Africa. When it snows it gets warmer. Have you down for #6072.
Lots of good photos here but that jaguar in the tree wins the prize for me.
My number for next week is 3939
Thanks Yogi. The leopard was a very exciting sighting, and it posed for a while. Have you down for #3939.
OK, everything I have yo say is now redundant after reading all the comments. Great shots this week, and holy cow that leopard shot is exciting. I was really impressed with the trampoline sun shades (I mean don’t you just want to jump off the roof onto those things?) but the leopard–wow.
#7571 for me this week, please.
Thanks Shane. I love, and hadn’t thought of, the idea of jumping off the roof onto the trampolines. I’ll bet they’re not insured for that. It’s exciting to see any wildlife, but what we’d call exotic is really over the top. Have you down for #7571.
Great selection of photos. I am going with 7411 hoping it will be more from JOTR. One of my favorite places!!
Thanks Sally. Have you down for #7411.
