This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 5 images chosen by readers from my photo files. Taking me back to warmer climes and adventures in South Africa. Noticing a pattern here, the urge is strong, hopefully next year.
Yogi chose #6108. Looking down on the suspension bridges at the mouth of Storms River on a marvelous trail at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa.
Mary Lou chose #4345. Fellow blogger Jonker shared his home town of Port Elizabeth including St George’s Park when I visited South Africa in 2013. So interesting to see different flowers when traveling. This is appropriately called a Spider Lily.
Bibi chose #2020 for “my vision still, I think.” My vision was certainly clear for this lovely view from a loop drive at Golden Gate Highlands National Park, South Africa. Her choice was one of a four photo panorama so I give you both to put it in perspective.
Shane chose #1343. Probably wouldn’t have noticed this Scops Owl well hidden in Kruger National Park, South Africa if the picnic area caretaker hadn’t pointed it out. Safari isn’t always just about the big animals.
Jerry chose #6550. Although I’m not much of a water baby I could sit for days watching the ocean waves and where better than sunset over the Indian Ocean at Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa.
My choice this week of an unusual custom made RV parked at Crazy Horse RV Park where I’m living. I hear it’s for sale. Any takers?
Please join in for next week by leaving a number between 1 and 9999 in your comment below. Thanks for playing along with Foto Friday Fun.
Do you have a favorite this week?
Oh WOW, I love the birds-eye-view of the hanging bridges over Storms River; I always love seeing Golden Gate National Park scenery. But my all-time fave is the Scops owl. They’re always so well-camouflaged. I’m glad you saw it! That RV is made for someone who likes to look over the river at sunset, sipping cold ones on the deck! Thanks for sharing this post.
Was exciting to see the Scops owl. You could park that RV just about anywhere.
Great post- enjoyed all the pictures. My number for next week is 1218
Thank you Mary Lou. Have you down for #1218.
That owl is very, very cool. It looks like it could have been carved out of bark.
#7080 for me this week, please.
These owls are difficult to spot because they blend in with the tree bark so well. Have you down for #7080.
I’ll play this week. I want to see 1952, which is the year I was born.
Thanks for joining in. Have you down for #1952.
Oops I must have missed last week with packing:-( Love that sunset, amazing. Only have the Nexus here so hard to track my numbers so out of the hat comes 9009. Safe driving and have a great Christmas. Diane
I figured you were busy getting ready for your travels. Hope all is well. Have you down for #9009.
Clearly I forgot to leave a number when I commented last Friday. More the pity for me. But being a water baby, the gorgeous sunset over the Indian Ocean is my favorite followed closely by the owl. What a great picture. I do love all your South Africa pictures. May I have #1219 for next week???
I thought you’d like the sunset, or any sunset for that matter, and you’ve seen quite a few lately in FL. Have you down for #1219.
Liked all of them, as usual, but loved my sunset. Really cool RV. Not sure it would work for the missus, though. 4440 for next week.
Thanks Jerry. Don’t think that RV would work for me either. I love my 5er. Have you down for #4440.
How you must be missing all the warmth of South Africa, looking at these stunning pics! Love those suspension bridges, even with my heights issue they look wonderful over the water. 1976 for next week please.
You better believe it! I’m working on a plan to go back next winter for sure. Have you down for #1976.
Great photos all, that owl really, really intrigues me, I love the suspension bridge, that RV looks a little sketchy to me. I bet for some reason that it is some sort of tea party gun nut.
I can tell that you wish you were someplace warmer for the winter season and I don’t blame you. I hope you get a chance to thaw out soon.
Random dot org says 2294 is my next number.
If we don’t get a chance to bump into each other on the interwebs have a great Christmas!!
Thanks Yogi. I do really wish I was someplace warm wearing shorts instead of multiple layers. Have you down for #2294.
Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Wow on all…. But I love the owl and I’d really like to know who lives in (and who buys) that RV…
Nobody lives in that RV. The current owner lives in a trailer. I think it was a hobby/project for him. Pretty unusual looking.
