Happy Blogaversary to Geogypsy!
Seven years ago yesterday I published my first blog post. My dear friend FabGrandma convinced me to start a blog and has mentored me all along the way. Sure has been a fun journey sharing my life’s adventures and meeting so many of you, virtually and face to face. Without you I may not have stuck with it. A big THANKS to all readers! (BTW, I love your comments.) So….
This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 8 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 1010. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Sherry chose #1010, a look at the Kaibab National Forest’s fall aspen taken 9-21-12. They are looking pretty much the same right now.
Yogi chose #1061, 1 of 7 in a panorama of an old movie set along Johnson Canyon Road not far from Kanab, Utah where old westerns were once filmed. The site is unfortunately falling apart.
Diane chose #0097 taken during my 4/2014 visit to a very wet and flooded Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
Sallie chose #7401, “the last part of our new zip code.” This shot includes the last and front part of an elephant seen at Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa.
Shane chose #3143. There’s more to Addo Elephant National Park than wildlife.
Jodee chose #1111, “because I try to make a wish each day at that time.” I like that idea and would make a wish to return to Point Sublime without the nasty drive.
Mary Lou chose #1119, the saguaros and Joshua trees along SR89 below the Weaver Mountains and Yarnell, Arizona.
Bibi choose #3131, a view she may remember from the Bright Angel Point trail on the North Rim Grand Canyon.
My choice from the drive home on our mini vacation through Capitol Reef National Park, Utah.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Happy anniversary!
I spent an evening at Capitol Reef. It made a big impression on me. I saw rockfall from the top of the lowest point of the cliffs in your photo. I wasn’t too far from where you took that picture when it happened. What an amazing sound.
As a coincidence, image #1010 for me was taken near the campground at Capitol Reef. A rare sunrise photo (I likes my sleep).
#5047 for me this week, please.
Wish we’d had more time to explore Capitol Reef. I hadn’t been there in about 40 years. How exciting to see a rockfall, from a distance anyway. I know what you mean about liking sleep. I see way more sunsets than rises. Have you down for #5047.
I think from a distance is the only way I’d want to experience it. 🙂
Happy Blogaversary! Me too on I probably would not post without the comments and when they are few, I always think about just shutting it down. Love that elephant and Capitol Reef, my favorite of the three close parks!! Beautiful photos all around. Let me have 8920 for next week please.
It is rather discouraging when there aren’t many comments on a post. I’m days behind reading. Thanks for the compliment on the photos. Wish we’d had time to explore more of Capitol Reef, it’s been 40 years since I was there last. Have you down for #8920.
Seven years that is amazing and I would never have ‘met’ you if I had not followed Joan. Well done. Love all these shots, but think Point Sublime is my favourite. I am loosing track of numbers but maybe if I go with 0008 that is a new series I can work on 🙂
So glad we did meet through Joan, a wonderful lady. Have you down for a new series at #0008.
Happy Blogaversary, Gaelyn! I so enjoy your posts and I am so, so glad I was able to meet you and have a couple of adventures together. Definitely to redo.
I do indeed remember Bright Angel Trail. My favorite is the old movie set, dilapidated as it may be.
Definitely a redo, either here or there. No number this week?
Seven years! Congratulations on the achievement, that’s so great! 🙂
Thank you Patti.
Congrats and thanks for the work you put into such an enjoyable blog! Love Point Sublime – gorgeous view!! The deteriorating buildings have such a unique charm. I’ll take 015 next week, for the age I was the last time I camped near Bridgeport, CA.
Thank you for the lovely compliment. Have you down for #015.
Congratulations. I look forward to your great photos. My number is 8297
Thanks. It’s fun to share the photos. Have you down for #8297.
