This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 7 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 9998. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Yogi chose #9998, a sunrise in Pilanesburg Game Reserve, South Africa. Although I don’t typically see a whole lot of sunrises I do when on safari.
Sherry has been bugging for months for a photo of Bill and I together so this week she finally gets this shot of us from last week at Marble View on the Kaibab National Forest. It was actually taken with my phone by another person. How come people cut you off at the knees and leave 6 feet of sky over your head. This is as good as it gets Sherry.
Diane chose #0077, a canyon view from the porch of a North Rim cabin taken before we opened this spring. Of course the rim views cost a bit more and are more difficult to reserve.
Jodee chose #300. Back in October, 2011 there was snow on the meadows along SR67 heading north out of the North Rim Grand Canyon on the Kaibab National Forest.
Shane chose #6413, one of six in a panorama taken of a lagoon at Tsitsikmma National Park in Nature’s Valley, South Africa.
Sallie chose #748, an adorable baby elephant sticks close to Mom at Kruger National Park, South Africa.
My choice this week from a drive this past week near Kanab, Utah looks at the Navajo sandstone that makes up the Glendale bench.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Thank you, Gaelyn. Beautiful photos. Loved the one of the baby elephant and its Mom. Photos around the North Rim area brought back fond memories of our time up there. – George V.
Thanks George. Glad to share the NR.
Love the panorama. I’ve tried a few myself now and they’ve turned out pretty good. Thanks for the inspiration.
#4305 this week, please.
Thanks. I’ve been taking panoramas since childhood when the photos were taped together and put on the fridge. Have you down for #4305.
Loved seeing Bill at last, Gaelyn. And yes, it’s better to almost cut off the top of a person’s head than his feet. Loved the Nature’s Valley photo and of course, the elephant and her calf. Enjoy the rest of your day! Hugs Jo
Even a non-photographer should be able to figure that out don’t you think. Glad you liked the SA shots.
Gaelyn, You sound and look happy in relationship to your world and Bill. I’m happy to it!
You sound and look happy in relationship to your world and Bill. It’s a pleasure to see.
Thanks Kat. It’s been a great summer of fun.
Glad Sherry hung in there – fun to see a pic of you and Bill in the wilds. The snow on the meadow is beautiful, and I hope this October it holds off while we travel the eastern Sierras! Love the baby elephant.
Wasn’t easy to get Bill to pose. I hope the snow holds off too. The eastern Sierras should be gorgeous.
I love the sunrise shot. As far as the shot of you and Bill it is fine but there are some people who cannot take a photograph to save their life. Some of them splay their hands all across the front of the camera messing up the exposure (I tell them there is no reason to have any fingers on the front surface) and focusing sensors others can’t seem to find the subject in the view finder, others are moving the cameras while taking the pic. I don’t get it.
Thanks Yogi. How hard is it to take a picture of people with their entire body? No number this week?
Thanks for the picture of the two of you. I’d say it’s pretty darn good, not ‘as good as it gets’ even without your legs. That is so difficult to understand. I have to remind David all the time that I want ALL of the people, not all of the sky. So glad to have a picture of the two of you in my mind as I follow your adventures. LOVE the African sunrise, any and all elephants and every single one of your simply gorgeous pictures of the canyon from anywhere. Very nice shot from that porch and also your final shot of Glendale Bench is fantastic including that cool clouded sky.
Thanks. I thought you’d be happy to finally see a photo of the two of us, even if our legs were cut off. Too bad, because Bill has great legs. 😉 No number this week?
You may have gotten cut off at the knees, but that’s a cute photo of the two of you. 😉
Thanks Patti.
Another nice collection! Love the shot of mama and baby elephant. I’ll take 6464 for next week.
I always love the elephants. Have you down for #6464.
Sorry first we were away, then had 4 from RSA staying with us. Love all these photos and the elephant and baby is amazing. Please don’t stop Friday photos, they are fun, Diane
