To follow up on recent views at Grand Canyon which often include a variety of marvelous skies.
Clear blue Arizona skies are common above the canyon, this southern view from Crazy Jug Point.
Yet it has been a season for inversion which often enhances or blocks the view.
July and August usually bring exciting monsoon skies.
But July has been a slow month for rain.
Maybe August will be better.

Hello Gaelyn, beautiful captures of the Canyon and the sky. I like the dramatic clouds and monsoon sky! Have a happy weekend!
Thanks Eileen. Monsoon can certainly bring dramatic skies.

Hard to go wrong at Grand Canyon.
Beautiful and dramatic skies indeed and terrific captures, Gaelyn! Good to see you online again!! Enjoy your weekend!!
Stunning panoramas. Love the swirl of misty cloud across the landscape.
Thank you Gemma. Have always enjoyed taking panoramas and the inversions offer great opportunities.
Have you been away? I haven’t seen you around SKYWATCH for a while. Always wonderful to see the skies above the Grand Canyon.
Thanks. Haven’t been too far away, just busy.
I like the nice variety of skies you get, but especially the monsoon skies!
Monsoon skies are so exciting.
The day of the inversion was our most memorable. Well, that and the threat of getting struck by lightning on the Widforss Trail;-)
Inversion is a special gift to receive. Not so much lightning, which you seem to tempt in CO as well.
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
Beautiful skies, they can be so dramatic at the canyon. Diane
Beautiful skies — even the inversions are mysterious and soft. Seems like everyplace is dry these days.
We got a few drops of rain today. Hope there’s more tomorrow.
Who can beat the skies at the Grand Canyon! I hope you get some rain in August. We seem to be doing fine with moisture – so far.
Got a few sprinkles today and more predicted tomorrow. Oh how we need the moisture. Praying for lots of winter snow on those Rockies.
beautiful canyon skies.
Thank you.
You always manage to capture beautiful and unusual views of canyon and sky, Gaelyn. I always enjoy your photos.
Thanks Janie. The Canyon provides grand opportunities. Although the monsoon skies have mostly just teased with sprinkles.
That second photo is so pretty – highlights the green – and the flow of green crosses the entire canyon. Really nice!
Lovely views of a fantastic location,
Thanks. BTW, hope you had a great time in Canada. If I ever catch up reading blogs I’m sure to read about your adventures.
