This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 5 images chosen by readers from my photo archives. Our meme number for this week is 168. Please link in any day this week by digging into your archives and sharing a photo and story on your blog. Plus check out the other posts linked to the Foto Friday Fun meme.
Sherry chose #168, a sundog hanging above the Weaver Mountains after the sun had disappeared. This is the view out my RV’s Imax windows during winter in Yarnell, Arizona.
Shane chose #4399, the Cape Recife Lighthouse. Just one of many places I toured with Firefly in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Unfortunately it was such a windy day we didn’t get to walk the beach.
Bibi chose #199, the silver bridge across the Colorado River. One of two foot bridges to get from one side of the canyon to the other. Of course you also have to hike a mile down in 9-14 miles depending on which side you start from. Plus there’s the getting back out.
Diane chose #0075, one of many canons at Castillo de San Marcos in St Augustine, Florida. She sees castles all over in France, but this is about as close as we get in the US.
Yogi chose #253, “which is hundred times the NYMEX price of natural gas per million btu’s as of Friday close.” He works in gas. No fossil fuels found in this sandstone rock at Grand Canyon along the North Rim’s Cliff Spring trail. I love the colors from iron leaching out of the rock and the textures.
My choice this week appears to be a pregnant coyote. I was driving through one of the meadows on the Kaibab National Forest Monday and saw one coyote heading for the trees on the left. Being the road is still closed to the public I just stopped and then motion caught my eye on the right where this coyote was also headed into the trees. I’m sure they were both glad when I moved on and they could reunite.
Since then I’ve been pretty much working in the office so haven’t spent much time with the canyon except a brief visit to the rim Wednesday afternoon.

Do you have a favorite from this week?
Loved the 11 lessons learned in 2013. Just found it.

Shirley
I had to go back and look at that post (https://geogypsytraveler.com/2014/01/05/11-lessons-looking-back-2013/) and see that I’m still learning many on that list.
I do hope you’ll visit and why not fall when the forest glows.
Ok it’s too hard to pick this week. LOVE mine and the lighthouse and both the close up and distant shots of the rocks in that amazing Grand Canyon. Two weeks to opening! Wish I were there. Super clear coyote shot. I’ll take 1688 for next week,
Thanks Sherry. Hard to believe we’ll be opening in two weeks. Wish you where here also. Have you down for #1688.
Wonderful collection of images, Gaelyn! I love the first sundog shot, Lighthouse and the Grand Canyon .. Have a happy weekend!
Thanks Eileen.

I’m picking 02 for next week.
Thanks Yogi. She was a lucky sighting. Have you down for #02.
I love my lighthouse photo!
#8961 for me this week.
Thanks. Lighthouses are always photogenic. Have you down for #8961.
I love the lighthouse…it must have really been windy not to walk out on the beach!
Next week, number 450, the number of a recent flight I took.
It was over the top windy as in sand blast. Surprised the photo looks so clear. Have you down for #450.
Love old canons, that is an interesting one. Great photos once again. I may be late in following next week as we will be in Amsterdam but 0076 please, Have a great weekend Diane
I thought you’d like the canon. Have fun in Amsterdam. You’re on for #0076.
Really impossible to pick a favorite this week; they are all so different from each other and all so good. Hard to believe it was windy on that clear crisp shot of the lighthouse! It’s beautiful. I do love the coyote. I like them. I know many people don’t, but they seem so brave and independent and well, just another creature trying to make it in this world.
Anyway … love the post as always and I will take # 8139. My husband’s birthday. (I’m really a very boring person with no creative ideas here.)
Coyotes are awesome, so adaptable. I figure they and cockroaches will inherit the earth someday. Have you down for #8139.
Wow! What timing to capture the mama coyote!
I was pretty excited about this sighting.
All are wonderful but most certainly mama coyote wins for me 🙂 I’m picking 522 for my birthday! Have a great week.
Thanks Jodee. She was certainly a special sight. Birthday and then hit the road, nice. Have you down for #522.
All lovely photos! I’m a bit late this week, but hopefully you can squeeze in 2222.
Thanks Elaine. I too am late this week having been on the South Rim for the last three days. Have you down for #2222.
