Yogi let random dot org choose #1195 which ends up being these mallards on the Colorado River. Yet this portion of the river is not in Grand Canyon. Instead there was a sweet little frontage road along the river before crossing the bridge to Laughlin, Nevada where Berta and I were headed in February, 2012, not to gamble.
Sherry chose #108, an interesting roadside attraction along State Route 89’s Yarnell Hill. It’s a steep drop of 2500 feet in four miles, a bear when in an RV. Twice almost burnt the brakes going down. This elephant has been repainted numerous times and the story of why it’s there varies.
Bibi chose #5000 for the number of Serbian Dinars it will take to get her computer out of hock. Maybe the hyenas who left these tracks could scare her up a discount.
Diane chose #1777 which is one of four from a panorama taken July 2010 during monsoon season at Grand Canyon so I give you the entire picture as well. Two great combinations for me as I love when it rains with the clouds settled like this and have been taking panoramas since childhood when I had to tape them together. Ever do that?
Jonker chose #13, “because it’s my fave number.” I am self taught at most of the crafts I’ve done over the years. This was an early work in 1980 when I was still trying to create detail with small pieces of glass which is not easy. And I was really into unicorns. Although this piece is long gone it’s still one of my favorites.
My choice this week from my recent jaunt into the southern Arizona desert in the new camper. Something very special about the light.

Capturing the present for future memories of the past
The pic with Yarnell Hill is my favorite. I’ve never been to Yarnell but my dad has and he remembers Yarnell Hill has being pretty steep.
My number for next week, courtesy of random dot org is 6952
That Yarnell Hill road hasn’t changed in decades. Unfortunately many accidents occur on it, especially motorcycles. Have you down for #6952, next week’s number.
Wow that’s a really steep hill. Wonder what the % grade is. The steepest Winnona has ever been down 17% grade. White knuckles! Love your panorama. That is just such a beautiful shot. Another for your coffee table book I would like to have # 8111 for next week please.
Not sure of the grade but it is steep. I hope never to tow down it again. I think the next coffee table book will be South Africa as the first one is of the canyon. Have you down for #8111.
My photos of the clouds in the Grand Canyon is by far my favourite, thanks so much for these magnificent pictures. 1777 for next week please. Have a good Sunday Diane,
Everybody has seen Grand Canyon under blue Arizona skies but I love when the clouds settle in. Have you down for #1777.
Hi Gaelyn, thanks for your regular visits to my blog! I can only comment on your Friday Foto Fun these days, as I still haven’t worked out how to join in (doh!) I love the hyena paw prints: obviously taken in SA? (((Hugs))) Jo
Welcome home. And for stopping by. You don’t have to link in to leave a number. I’m missing SA. Take care of those puppies.
