I knew the partial solar eclipse was coming but had plans to go to town so took the camera, solar filter, and solar glasses along to watch and photograph.
Then, because I like to play with the images, I put the eclipse over Grand Canyon. It’s certainly not the best attempt but then I know nothing about PhotoShop which I finally made this work in. Part of a learning process.

Amazing photos of the eclipse no matter where you put them.
Thanks Sherry it was fun learning how to put this together.
Well, I think you did well!!
I agree with Sherry. Great work photographing them
Nice work Gaelyn. Will have to take the time to do something similar with my photos. It is always fun to experiment.
Definitely a learning process.
It’s fun to play. PhotoShop scares me, I use Picassa which is easy enough even for me.
That is so cool! I was fortunate enough to be at Arches National Park on the day of the eclipse, and they had the special glasses, as well as a machine set up for viewing. This was such a fortuitous event, as I would have otherwise missed it. I have seen many lunar eclipses, but I think this was my first solar, thanks to NPS!
What fun!! I’m glad you shared this, now I have something new to try!! It looks really great, Gaelyn!! Hope you have wonderful weekend!!
I can tell that you had a great time playing with these images!
Wondrous Sunrise
Photoshop is a real challenge. Guess I need some tutorials.
its a pretty neat looking image.
This actually turned out great! For me, Photoshop is a lifelong learning process! (but then, I’m a slow learner!!).
Thanks Peter. Photoshop may have to wait for a while as I’m still learning Lightroom as well.
Beautiful view over the canyon.. neat photoshop image.. Have a happy weekend!
