Historical Museum taken 1997 (the only pic I have from Portland)
I bought a ticket to Portland, Oregon. Seems my dear friend Berta is flying there the end of October, and now so am I. Even got on the same flights. Though we may have to work it a bit to sit together.
Berta, Gaelyn and Darlene at Grand Canyon South Rim 2006
We’ll be gone for a week, share the expense of renting a car and hotels. This will save us both some dollars. And we get to visit our dear friend Darlene in Washington. Will be a gathering of the three amigas.
Now have to think about returning to South Africa, at least for part of winter, their summer.
Well now I am jealous. My fun cousin lives up on top one of the hills there just off the freeway in Happy Valley. I love going to Portland. Such a relief from hot dusty Arizona. And I love Arizona! So I have a right to say that. 🙂
I too like the PNW and look forward to this as a fun, if not fast, trip.
I so wish you would come to west Georgia. I miss you!
I’d love to see both of you also, but I can’t afford to fly all over the country. 🙁
Have a great trip Diane
Thanks. Berta and I always have fun together.
You had me…thought you were off to So. Africa, but Portland is nice, too! Went there a couple of times on a girls’ weekend with my daughter. Have fun!!
I do like the PNW but haven’t given up entirely on the idea of SA.
Have a grand time in Portland–bring sunshine with you. MB
I haven’t seen sunshine in a few days, but I’ll try.
I had been thinking it was time for your trip to the northwest! Great that you’re flying and meeting up with good friends.
Seemed like the cheapest way to go.
YAY! I am so happy for you . Perfect time for a visit. And the area is obviously in for a treat when those three lovely women get together. You will have such a good time. No lions though, so yeah, you’ll definitely have to plan for another winter trip later ;>)
I am SO looking forward to us ladies getting together. And still thinking of a winter trip to SA, if it’s in the budget.
I keep hoping you might do some more RVing in the U.S. so we can see your photos from other places here.
I’d love to do just that, it’s just not in the current budget.
That was a quick decision! One down, one to go…
Had to reserve the flight quickly or probably wouldn’t have gotten it done at all.
Portland is all kinds of fun! Funny that you’re heading to the Pacific Northwest just after we’ve left. Had we stayed maybe you would have found yourself in Ashland and we could have met. Another time, another place. Safe travels to you!
Will be spending most time in Bandon and North Bonneville. We’ll probably cross paths at some time. Hope your journey is filled with fun.
Sounds like a good plan, you get to visit your friend and share expenses. Maybe there is still enough in the budget for South Africa.
I’m looking forward to this trip very much. And still thinking about South Africa.
