Once I’m back at Grand Canyon I get real sidetracked posting about this amazing place.
But I’m not done with South Africa yet and still have plenty to post. I believe the last post was about Augrabies Falls National Park, the last of 10 South African National Parks visited.
With less than two weeks left and a holiday coming we were lucky to get 10 nights’ reservations at Pilanesberg Game Reserve not too far west of Johannesburg where I would fly out.
Yet it was more than a day drive away so we stopped for the night at Rietspruitdam Caravan Park in Ventersdorp where we had almost the whole camp to ourselves with a marvelous sunset view over the lake.
Plus I still want to share with you the Hinterveld Mohair tour, more about the variety of campers in South Africa, and Ranger Wanda Lust’s perspective on the journey.
Not sure I’ll be returning to South Africa in 2015, but I’m certainly dreaming about it.
I love that last photo Gaelyn:) Thanks for the Monday morning laugh. Hope you have a great week. Miss you! Me:)
Thanks Chris. Glad Wanda could start your morning with a laugh. Miss you too.
Coming up for the condor release 9-27?
That top shot is a real stunner! Must be soooo impressive in person.
Augrabies Falls was spectacular.
I love Wanda. Why have I never seen her before? She’s just what I need to ride along with Winnona. A Park Ranger in my RV. Where can I get her sister. Can’t wait to see more of her adventures in South Africa and the North Rim. You might not be going in 2015…..really?
I kind of forgot to introduce Ranger Wanda on the blog. Had a Facebook contest to name her. Don’t know if NPs still sell this version but look in Visitor Centers.
Thinking fall road trip instead of South Africa. Can’t really afford both.
We have Wanda’s sister for sale at the North Rim gift shop.
Guess I should send one to Sherry.
The last two weeks have been hectic with road trips to Johannesburg, Cape Town and East London. My whole body is sore and I need to catch up on life, family and blogging. Great Augrabies picture but I really don’t mind all the Grand Canyon pics when you are there. You know me.
You have been keeping on the move alot. Hope there’s some play involved. Still at the canyon for another month so you’ll see more.
Alrighty then cuz I’m ready to read more about your trip to South Africa.
Now I just have to get it written.
