Life requires transitions between travel and work play.
Switching gears from travel, explore and play in South Africa to Ranger, explore and play at Grand Canyon National Park, and surrounding areas.
Transitions from fall in South Africa to spring in Arizona, from tenting back to the 5th-wheel RV with some repairs done and more needed. Taking off my sandals and putting on hiking boots. Switching the Kruger cap for the flatop. Casual dress to uniform. Gypsy life transitions have gotten smoother over the years.
Time to work to play some more. I’m certainly not complaining merely reflecting. I LOVE my job!
Hopefully be parked with a different new view, sunset over Transept Canyon. Check out Friday’s post for that view. Don’t know for sure about internet and phone yet. My cell worked off the south rim tower from this location, a couple years ago.
So, I’m on the road again with today’s destination just west of Flagstaff, Arizona, Camping World due to a water leak. Then after stocking up on groceries, Friday I head to the North Rim.
Love the photos ….
hope your trip goes smoothly .
Thanks Kelly.
You’re lookin’ good and happy. So important to have a job you like.
I do love my job. See you there this summer.
Its never easy doing the transition from holiday to work, but when you love you job and you work in an industry you have a passion for its a lot smoother.
All true, yet still a transition.
We stopped into that Flagstaff Camping World on our way home in April of 2013. Always nice returning to familiar turf where one has already created many memories over the years. South Africa, Yarnell, & the Grand Canyon makes for a nice diverse way of life each year.
It’s certainly not a bad cycle and I’m ready to get back to work.
You are a woman of many hats and shoes, and talents.
Gee, thanks Yogi. 🙂
Safe travels!!
Thanks Sally.
You do have a wonderful life with the sorts of “work” and play you have arranged. That’s what it’s all about, finding and creating the life you love. Well done, hats off to you, flat and otherwise. I always wondered how you had phone and internet up there on the North Rim.
Thanks. Took a long time to get this balance. I’m hoping the cell phone will do the trick this year and save me doubling my phone bill with a land-line.
Hope to see you this summer! This time we will schedule to hear one of your talks…
That would be great!
Welcome back to the USA, Gaelyn. Here’s to a smooth transition and big smiles! -Nancy
Thanks Nancy. How goes it with you?
Awesome!!!!! Always exciting to start up at the Grand Canyon. It will all get fixed and I know it’s quite the transition. Glad you’re back. We’ll be taking a road trip this summer again. Have fun and talk to you soon! Chris
I hope one of those road trips brings you to the North Rim.
Good luck at Camping World — leaks are never fun. I know you love your job as much as you love travel — it shines through all your posts.
Camping World found the leak and had me out in an hour.
Back to work—it happens but who else gets 3 months traveling and playing in /SA??? I know the transition will be smooth. ENJOY and maybe not this year but we are talking next year to the Canyon. MB
My job is like play but the animals sure are different than in SA. I do hope you make it to the canyon.
Looking forward to your posts and pictures from the north rim.
Won’t be long now. I’m in Flagstaff until Friday morning.
You’ve got quite the view where you work!
Indeed I do. 😀
You look so different in uniform. Enjoy your season.
Well my hair was longer in 2012.
