This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 6 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives. Next week I hope to share more photos from the current trip in South Africa.
Bibi chose #4, “which I consider for some reason to be my lucky number.” It would be very lucky to see a real wolf howling instead of this drawing I did back in my college days.
Firefly chose #247, “just a random number to keep the pics clicking over Hope you are having a blast.” Had a blast at Pilansberg where we saw this Blue Wildebeest with its young.
Sallie chose #25, “cuz that was the number of our site in one of our favorite RV Parks.” Sure wish I’d have camped at Granite Basin Lake near Prescott, Arizona before the Dulce fire.
Elaine chose #173 which might not be terribly exciting to many but this white ball is full of 1000s of frog eggs and are laid so that when the tadpole emerges it falls into the water. Seen at Kruger National Park.
Yogi chose #73, “its a prime number which is great and its digits add up to 10 which appeals to me also.” I’d call this sunset from Cape Royal at the North Rim of Grand Canyon is definitely a 10, and also prime.
Diane chose #19, “for the date of my birth.” Coming out of Wire Pass slot canyon felt like being birthed from the sandstone rock.
My choice this week is of a very rare sighting in Kruger National Park not because the Black Rhino is so rare but because they usually are deep in the bush which is where the first one we saw was hiding.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I really enjoy digging through my archives and pulling the stories from my memories. To join in the fun for next week leave a number between 1 and 400 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
Do you have a favorite from this week?
Look for other photos posted on Geogypsy Facebook page not usually seen here.
Looks like I forgot again – I’m beginning to get worried. So first thing, I choose 399. Now this is another great week of pictures. Had no idea you were an artist in another media than photgraphy. So glad to see your wolf and of course that Grand Grand Canyon sunset and the slot canyon. I know you are having a fabulous time in your tied for favorite place. It makes me smile to think of you there.
I have tried many art forms in life but haven’t drawn anything in many years. And I just can’t stop from smiling all the time here in South Africa. Have you down for 399.
“My” picture makes me sad/happy at the same time. I’m glad you have the picture to help keep the memory of before the fire alive.
The rhino is wonderful. So is everything really. Glad you are able to find time and place to continue this while you’re traveling.
How about 222 — our daughter’s birthday (and maybe writing it will help me remember to get something to her on time for a change!)
Good thing life returns after a fire and this is already greening up. The Black Rhino sighting was extremely special. Have you down for 222.
Beautiful selection!! Naturally I love the Rhino best. What a fantastic sighting that was.
Thanks for the howl. For some reason when I draw, I have a really hard time getting animals to face left…. They look all stiff and unnatural. Facing right is okay; guess my hand and brain make it that way.
I love the rhino.
I’ll go for 400; no reason!
Are you right handed or left?
Have you down for #400.
P.S. Well, it just goes to show you….I had things reversed above. I meant to say my animals/people don’t look natural when I draw them facing RIGHT. Left is okay.
Love the colours in the rocks at White Pass Trail, interesting shot. For no particular reason I will pick 199 for next week. Sounds like you are having a great time. Diane
The desert rock colors of the Southwest look like a glorious sunset. Have you down for #199.
Great shots all, the most intriguing is the frog eggs set up to fall in the water. Obviously frog engineers at work there. The black rhino shot is spectacular as well.
My next number is 201. Cuz it is just past halfway.
Amazing how smart animals are, well maybe except some human animals that is. 😉 Have you down for #201.
I like 4s so I will pick 44. Ok?
Again all great images and all special. MB
Some exceptional pictures again today. I agree that the sunset is an absolute 10. My number for next week is 13. My favorite number just because other people see it as unlucky
