This week’s Foto Friday Fun features 9 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives. Being that I removed many photos from the hard drive before traveling the choices are limited. Hope you enjoy them anyway.
Arija chose #1958, “the year we were married.” My Grandma Bea and Grandpa Butch were married long before that but this photo was taken May 1958.
Elaine chose #111 and gets an adult and young Blue Wildebeest taken last week at Pilansberg Game Reserve.
Yogi chose #345, “cuz I’m helping son study for a Geometry test today and I just love that 3 squared plus 4 squared equals 5 squared. He is not sharing my enthusiasm for the perfection of it all.” I just don’t get all this number stuff but maybe he can figure out how many pieces of rusty junk are in this shot taken at Gold King Mine Ghost Town in Jerome, Arizona.
Sherry chose #1888 and gets to see a Dassie or Rock Hyrax I saw along the Suspension Bridge trail at Storms River Mouth Tsitsikamma National Park in South Africa last year. Sure hope to return to hike there again this visit.
Bibi chose 16, for “Sweet Sixteen.” This morning dew on the grasses sure looked sweet out on the Walhalla Plateau on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. And I sure hope to show it to her when she visits this summer.
Sallie chose #1957, “the year we got married.” I was only three years old that year and my Mom liked to take me to a studio for photos.
MaryBeth chose #2000, “I feel like I need a BIG number.” She gets a big wave at Tsitsikamma National Park from last year’s visit.
Diane chose #1911 and also gets a Tsitsikamma sunrise from last year.
Firefly chose #1321, “a combination of two of my favourite numbers, 13 and 21.” I’ll bet he’ll recognize this sweet Scops Owl as a favorite also seen last year at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
My choice was taken on Thursday as the last sighting of the day as this beautiful lioness strolled past our closed car window not three feet away. She was joined by two others and almost caused us to be late returning to camp before the gate closed.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I’ll continue to try to keep up with this while traveling in South Africa. To join in the fun for next week leave a number between 15 and 2000 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
Do you have a favorite from this week?
Look for other photos posted on Geogypsy Facebook page not usually seen here.
With all these South African pictures coming up I’m sure your readers are getting more and more into your current trip, really looking forward for the pictures to start flowing. You know I love the Tsitsikamma just as much as you do the Grand Canyon so always great to see Tsitsikamma pictures.
My number for next week is 1799. The year the British built Fort Frederick, the oldest building in Port Elizabeth.
I love Tsitsikmma just as much as the canyon and can’t wait to get back.
Have you down for 1799.
My favorite is the lioness. What a great shot.
My next number is 1966. I liked that year.
I just love the owl even though you have a really great selection today.
Thanks for the flowers. I too hope to see them this summer. And although they’re beautiful, little 3-year-old Gaelyn takes the prize this week.
I’ll have number 1946 for next week….the birth year of a dear friend, okay, my old boyfriend, whom I also hope to see this summer…to be continued! 😉
Ahhh, so good to be back in Marquard and checking Blogs again. (But we’re off to Kzn on Sunday for almost a week again!) I love the scops owl, would love to see one. My choice for this week is 1953. as my next birthday is looming again, this is the year I was born. Hugs Jo xxx
Busy busy you are. Saw another scops tonight in Maroela camp Kruger.
Have you down for 1953.
You are so damn cute!!! And that pic of you in South Africa on FB shows off your beautiful smile. You are very happy there. I know you love the Grand Canyon, but I think you have found your second….or third calling:)
Gee thanks Chris. I do love it here.
Love the Tsitsikamma sunrise and the birds in the background. Hope you are having an amazing time, I am soooooo jealous.

Enjoying Kruger immensely. Have you down for 1981.
Hi Smiley Girl!! Again your shots are so neat. I love the Wave. You are so clever.
I will choose #27 cuz that’s how old I am today. MB
I love to smile. Have you down for 27 you youngster.
I think YOUR NUMBER is ———#ONE
Love and miss you – – – B
I feel like a number 1 over here. Joan spoils me with coffee made every morning. Could get used to this.
That lioness just takes my breath away and I love the shot of your grandparents but for my money, the pick of the week is that three year old cutie! Thank you.
May I have 1934 please? It was the year my absolutely wonderful sister was born.
Seeing the lions is breathtaking. Have you down for 1934.
You were a cute little girl way back then…. but my favorite photo is the lioness…. I love thinking about you seeing them right there on the road….(but I’m glad you made it back to camp). I’m probably too late to choose a number but if I’m not and if you have room I would pick 17. Last week I chose the year I got married. This is how old I was then. Can you believe that?
As a teenager my Dad always said I was such a cute little girl and wondered what happened. 🙂 Seeing lions that close sure gets my heart pumping. Have you down for 17.
