Fabulous photo! When you get to Kruger and you see a giraffe, what special park ranger skills will you use to identify if it’s the same one? Just curious, because it’s a skill I’d like to have….
LOL! I’ll just ask.
Great picture. My wife would love this, she is a big fan of giraffes.
I’m sure he checks your blog every day.
🙂
Beautiful shot. Diane
Oh I can feel the excitement building:) Not envious one bit;)
One of these trips you can go along.
What a regal Beauty.
I am sure he is thinking about you all the time. MB

Just outstanding, Gaelyn – it was posing for a portrait!
You must be on your way now! BOY OH BOY!!! Love giraffes. This is a great picture to post on your “return to Africa” day. Can’t wait to share your adventures and try not to be TOOO envious at all you are going to see and do.
In New York and board in about an hour for the 17 hour flight.
Footage has emerged of an elephant overturning a car at Kruger National Park in South Africa last month. The video, which was recorded on December 30, shows the car slowly approaching the elephant.
After a few moments, the male elephant turns towards the car and flips it over.
The female tourist in the car was seriously injured when one of the elephant’s tusks ripped open her thigh, while a male tourist suffered minor injuries
I wish I knew how to sent the video. Sorry
I saw the video and those folks were way too close.
Stunning! Just to be able to see creatures such as this in their natural habitat and not restricted by fences or boundaries – wow!
I bet he’ll stick out his tongue for you when you return… just before he strips the leaves of a sweet thorn tree’s branch
I’d like to get a photo of that purple tongue.
