What a stunning close up of an elephant. I’m sure you’ll never forget the moment you took this. The thing I wished/prayed for happened on Saturday 7th December. You can read about the first part of the Hedges saga in my post today. Have a wonderful day. Jo xxx
Thanks Jo. I’ll never forget.
Am behind on reading but I’m heading over to find out.
Although I know they can be quite dangerous, I still (wrongly) think of them as very gentle. I’m stuck in the Dumbo-phase, I guess. Many elephants in India; they were okay, and beautifully made-up!
I too find the elephant as gentle, and they are in many ways although have the potential to kick butt. But I don’t want to see them painted and paraded.
Addo is such a special place. People really under estimate the park and those who do visit leave there amazed with what they saw. I miss being able to go as often as I used to.
Addo is a gem amongst SANParks. Want to spend more time there this visit. Maybe the family can join us camping.
Such a gorgeous picture. Makes me wonder what thoughts are behind those eyes. I am so happy they have a safe place to be and that you were there too. Thank you for this.
Sure wish I could communicate with the elephants, their eyes speak of wonders.
Great picture.
Our experience at Addo is unforgettable. We had an amazing guide who knew the park so well.
Thanks for posting this amazing photo.

Thanks. Addo is truly a gem. And having a knowledgeable guide is priceless.
Fabulous photo, well done Gaelyn. Diane
Oh he is so beautiful and sad and wise…I love these animals.
They are my favorite in South Africa.
What a look. You captured it well. MB
