This week’s Foto Friday Fun includes 9 images chosen by readers picking a number out of my photo archives. Lots of birth years.
Jo chose #1972, “the year Grant and I were married.” And that’s the year I graduated from high school and didn’t look back. Well, until attending my 40th class reunion, my first. And it was a lot of fun meeting and greeting people I mostly didn’t remember.
Yogi chose #1928, “the year my Dad was born.” And here we see the birth of a new day as the sunrises over the Indian Ocean at Tsitsikamma National Park in South Africa.
Diane chose #1916, “the year my Dad was born.” Once again at Tsitsikamma where this lone seagull sits on the boulders.
Barb chose #1944, “the year of my birth.” I wonder if she was born with hiking shoes on because this lady hikes, bikes and skies according to season. I think she would like hiking along the Echo Ravine trail among the towering sandstone cliffs of Golden Gate Highlands National Park in South Africa. What say you Barb, want to go hiking?
MaryBeth chose #1122, “the month (November) and the day (22) of my birthday.” That’s today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MB!!!!!! For you a sunset from Point Sublime, a Grand Canyon view I will happily take you to when you visit the North Rim.
Sherry chose #3366. Sherry is a lover of deserts and I know she and I would get along just fine while eating Malva pudding (recipe) with custard and ice cream when she joins me in South Africa. Well maybe someday she will. In the meantime, we can all drool over the photo taken at Warmwaterberg Spa.
Bibi chose #3910, “which was the street address of the first place I called home, where I was taken as a baby.” How would you like an address with this view? My hosts at Rhodene Farm suggested this drive up to Gydo Pass when they found out how much I like mountain roads and views.
Melissa chose #524, “My baby-girl (31) is pregnant with her first child!! We are thrilled!! Her due date is May 24th.” May your new grandchild be as precious as all life and as whimsical as a hummingbird.
Sallie chose #2014 because, “It’s about time to get used to writing that.” I plan to see this view of the Vermilion Cliffs in 2014 on my way back to the North Rim.
My choice this week is of Sam who is staying with me while my neighbor is away. He’s an older and pretty mellow guy, a rescue dog who’s kind of shy. I haven’t had a dog around since Carson who I still miss daily.
Thank you for joining in Foto Friday Fun. I really enjoy digging through my archives and pulling the stories from my memories. To join in the fun for next week leave a number between 100 and 900 in a comment and maybe see your chosen image next week.
Do you have a favorite from this week?
Look for other photos posted on Geogypsy Facebook page not usually seen here.
I fail to find you in the school reunion photo, Gaelyn. I love dear ole Sam whom you’re looking after. Have a great weekend. (((Hugs))) Jo
Second row third from the left. No number this week?
Great pics, the Gydo Pass is my favorite along with Sam. Let me see, between 100 and 900. How about 714 which is the number of home runs that Babe Ruth hit (I think).
Gydo Pass was a fun drive and I’m so enjoying have Sam around. Have you down for 714.
Love my dessert, now if I could just get my fork to my mouth. Also love the road up the mountain. I’ll bet Sam is happy to hang around with you while wondering if his family has deserted him. I’ll take # 393. I have no idea why.
Sorry for being such a tease. Maybe David will make this for you. Have you down for 393.
That pic of the pudding is making me hungry!! 🙂
Love that Malva. No number?
Thanks for the view! Very different from the green wood across from that house where I grew up.
I’ll choose 135, the weight I’d really like to be again, but I think that’s history.
There’s nothing wrong with herstory. Have you down for 135.
So glad you have a ‘lend’ dog. Puppies are cute but give me a nice old dog any day.
Love all your chosen photos and followed the link to the pudding even but my heart grew at the sight of God’s painting of the sandstone cliffs. I could look at that for hours on end.
India is at the Oregon College of Art & Craft and being very productive.
Gaelyn, could I please have 898 please? Just because it is a good-looking
number.
Sam is pure sweetheart. Hope you will bake some Malva to savor while sitting in your wonderful garden.
India may be interested in applying to US National Park Artist-in-Residence programs, internationals welcome.
Have you down for 898.
Thanks so much for the info.
A great series of photos, all excellent. I will be on the road next Friday heading back to the UK until the end of December so not sure when I will be able to catch up but I will go for 599 for absolutely no reason at all! Diane
Enjoy your travels. Have you down for 599.
I’m sure all these South Africa photos are making you more and more excited about your upcoming trip.
I choose 372 for next week. Just a random number pulled from a hat
Yes they are. Have you down for 372.
I’m catching up and came to this post first, because I love that you do this — it is so much fun! I’m so happy that you’re looking forward to your wonderful trip to SA and then further to coming back to the beautiful Vermillion Cliffs and the amazing place where you work …. truly the best of both worlds!!! Thanks for taking me along!
I’m glad you enjoy this, and follow along, as it is fun for me. No number this week?
Great series of photos. I am in love with Sam.
Me too. But his owner will be back in a few days.
